Hi everyone. I guess it is about time I made it back to the pot belly stove. This is just the second year for me, but it feels like home. :D

Hope everyone has a good Friday.

Take care,
Garrett :multi:

Fall colors are already showing in this part of the country. Trees on the UWGB campus are showing signs of yellows, oranges and reds. Its been brisk around here too.... temperatures barely made it out of the 50's...with lows falling into the low 40's and windchills in the 30's. Because UWGB is located of the Bay of Green Bay (extreme NE side) winds are blowing right off the lake making the days feel colder. If this has any indication of the months to come, this will be a COLD winter! I need that warm apple cider to get me through the days.

Octoberfest is this weekend in Downtown Appleton...may stop down there to party with the rest of the 100,000 people that 'walk the mile' From the campus of Lawrence University to Performing Arts Center and beyond....vendors after vendors along with music and 'crafters corner' on the LU campus...major fun for all ages!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone

Good Morning!

WHEW! Whatta coupla days.........I can't "WAIT" till vacation, only 11 more days!!! Seems like it's NEVER gonna get here.

Talk about PEOPLE, my God, I didn't realize just how many people this mountain top could hold! Let's see, there's 748 entries in the car show, 2 people per car, that's 1496 people just in car owners, PLUS one of the largest antique shows in Az with over 1000 vendors, quilt shows, blah, blah, blah........estimated crowds today and tomorrow (figures from the PL Chamber of Commerce) 130,000+!!!! We're going to the Fall Festival Parade at 10 a.m., then we're coming home, lockin' the gate and staying inside the yard until tomorrow evening! This is the LAST of festivals until next spring......like I said, I know the local merchants need the extra income BUT.......sheeeesh!

ANYWAYS, not much else going on just the HEAT! YUP...back to record highs again today and tomorrow, I am SOOOOOOO ready for COLD temps and SNOW!!! Soon.......

Make it a GREAT Saturday would ya??

Wish there was some record heat here Dennis. We are in the fifties this morning and it looks like we won't hit 70º today or tomorrow.

Everyone enjoy their Saturday!

57° here right now, and windy too!! It feels like October out there! Ok ok, that is in only 4 days, but ya know what I mean! Can't really get a complaint out of me though, since October is my favorite month of the year!! And Garrett, I would bet it'll be a while before we see 70° again! I'm sure it'll happen again before cold air takes over, but the highs are supposed to stay in the 50's and 60's this week! So with that said, can a girl get a cup of hot chocolate??

I am sure there is some over in the Bar Jacki. ;) I agree. Our average frost is October 19th and I think we shall hit it sooner than that. :o

Thanks for the cocoa, Jeremy! That sure hits
the spot! We'll be in the high 40°'s, tonight,
so, I know you're chilling up there in KY!
Won't be long before we'll be bringing in
stews and chilis for the hungry Stovians...they
keep warm and yummy on the old stove...;)

Have a great night, friends!

Hi everyone. Today was nice out, it must have hit the 70's. I got all my outside work done. I'm glad that lawnmowing season is about over. How about a mug of hot chocolate? That'll hit the spot. There was a story in our newspaper saying that the fall colors should be good this year. We've had more than ample rain and no frost yet. We get reds, orange, yellows, and the pines stay green. Yep it's time for cold weather!

We haven't got much rain! Our grass in kind of yellow! *sniffle* I hope it doesn't affect the colors of our leaves, I wait all year for this!

Anywho, is there any hot chocolate left? If so, I would love some!

Morning from the potbelly stove. :) I am an early riser this morning. I don't know why either... I guess I can't sleep.

It is chilly right now so I have put on a pot of coffee and set out some donuts if anyone wants some. I am heading to the S2K Bar to see if we have the stuff to make French toast with. I am hungry! ;)

Good Sunday Morning!

Dennis - is this the vacation where you're headed to Taos and Santa Fe?

Ah, the coffee smells great! I brought some coffee cake for all to share.

It's cooler than yesterday and also cloudy. That front is almost through and we did have alot of rain overnight. The temps are forecasted to be in the 60's.

We have a christening to go to this afternoon. It's Marty's niece's second child, a boy. His name is Robert John or RJ.

The Eagles have a 1:00 pm game against Buffalo. I picked the Bills to win in my pool at work, but I hope the Eagles will win this one, even though it's away.

I bought some false spirea and some more daffodil bulbs to plant today.

Everyone have a wonderful Sunday!

Good morning to you all. Wow - it's 58°F, here,
right now - what a wonderfully cool blast! It's
quite windy, and, the windchimes are all playing
a most delightful tune. I'd love some coffee
and coffee cake, thank you! I'll be having lunch
with my Mom, later, and, I'm wondering if I
should be dragging out my coats from the closet
to wash, yet...?

Everyone have a great Sunday!

Another cloudy, blustery one! Only 52° with NNW winds at 12 mph! Brrrrr! I need some hot chocolate!

3 more days and Spook Month, aka my FAVORITE month, aka October begins! I am trying to get my mom to use this dreary day to bring out all the Halloween decorations, but I don't know how far I'll get with that! Of course if all else fails, I suppose I could sneak into the crawlspace myself, saying the door to it is in my room!! :D

I am almost done with one of my three blankets! At this rate I just may get them all done by Christmas, if not, I'll finish the 2 I am giving away, and save mine for later, no biggie! Well, gonna go bug my momma for a while, y'all save me a good seat by the fire!

Just a quick note to let you know I am back from our skip and jump across the Pacific to Maui. Great weather. Plenty of fun and exercise. Beautiful scenery...and ohhhh how those ocean waves soothe the weary soul!

Will probably not be back to posting much this week as it is catch-up time.

Great to get away, but glad to be back.

Good Morning/Afternoon!

Kinda late posting, I've been out back finishin' the harvest of the veggie garden.....you WON'T believe how many tomatoes we got this year, the total harvest, "356 LBS!" :o I picked 96 lbs. just this morning :o Homemade Salsa time

Steve, so glad to hear the vacation went well, ME next 8-) Yes Stephanie, this is it......Taos, Santa Fe and possibly Colorado 8-) We'll see how time and money goes, mostly money "LOL!" God I can't WAIT!!!!

Well, it's summer again, dang it's HOT, relatively speaking, hot for me is anything over 80°, it was 87° yesterday, perfect for the car show and parade. The PEOPLE.......my God, the estimated crowd at the car show, OVER 145,000+.......it's the last shot in the arm for local economy, which is good!

Off to start making the salsa and can it  that's a LOT of work but hey.....it's WELL worth it, we eat a TON of Mexican food during the winter, keeps the insides warm

I want some homemade salsa!

We have tomatoes, but definitely not that many!! Our little backyard garden couldn't hold all those tomatoes!

It's really crazy to hear someone mention 87° temps., when here we are hovering around 50°! Wanna trade? I can already feel a cold coming on!

Well, first badgering attempt for the Halloween decos failed, but I'll give it two more shots before I take matters into my own hands! :D Have a good one y'all!
