I cannot thank all of you guys enough for the quick responses I've had.

They are away on business today and only head back tomorrow so they are not aware of what the local info is.... hence me asking here.

I am trying to get as much info as I can for them so they can head to hardware stores etc.. on the drive back.

Thank you all again for such quick responses with mix of local info and warnings along with your own advice....it means a lot :D

Just a quick one.... my friends bro and sis in law live in Savannah GA.

They have never had to experience a storm with originally Being from the UK. They are worrying about what they should be doing.
Are they likely to be affected by Matthew and should they were boarding up the windows etc.. if so?

I know that there is probably info already on one of the pages but I have a teething baby and I am struggling to use the phone and look for relevant info.

Thanks in advance :) ;)

They should be in contact with their local authorities who will recommend what to do. Advice from here is fine but local mets will know the area well and who / where / what is at risk.

Ramp up should continue through the night.

I am in Jacksonville, Fl(East Arlington) glad I am picking up my next refill of anxiety meds :double: (I am one of those who needs it just for normal day to day reasons) today(also use other meds for heart issues-doing well with these meds) to make sure I have all and enough meds for after the this event is over....I am getting VERY worried(to put it mildly) about Matthew......Hope after all is said and done we will NOT be retiring "Matthew" for obvious reasons...Prays to all those impacted by Matthew before now, right now, and afterwards.... :flag:

P.S.: Hope I didn't post too personal info-mods please delete this post if necessary

Hi Leanne! I used to live in the Savannah area on a barrier island called Tybee. I just received a call that they are doing a mandatory evacuation on Tybee. I'm unsure about Savannah. Do you know which area in Savannah they live? I was told that they consider anything west of interstate 95 to be a safe zone but flooding is a concern for the whole area.

You can private message me if needed! I still have loads of contacts there and can try to help you out if I can.

Also an extremely hot tower just developed that should expand and help close of the eyewall again..

That was a nice one, especially this time of day.
Cirrus from it is obscuring the eye.

Yes, the NOAA flight from tampa is scheduled for 3 passes and the AF plane is on its way home.

Clarence Town is getting hammered, but they are not in the highest winds at this point.
