What does everyone make of this? It's really firing some deep convection right now (5am) and I believe it's associated with that 'V' shaped wave that moved off the coast behind Kate. If it persists the islands may have something worth watching.

Meanwhile 90L begins to fire convection over the MLC.

This is a problem.

CENTRAL ATLANTIC...EASTERN THIRD OF THE CARIBBEAN SEA...
A LARGE TROUGH COVERS THE TROPICAL AND SUBTROPICAL CENTRAL
ATLANTIC AND EASTERN THIRD OF THE CARIBBEAN SEA...THROUGH
32N45W 23N53W 18N62W 10N67W. WATER VAPOR IMAGERY INDICATES
A LARGE AREA OF MIDDLE TO UPPER LEVEL DRY AIR ASSOCIATED WITH
THIS FEATURE WITHIN AT LEAST 900 NM ON EITHER SIDE OF THE
TROUGH. TROPICAL STORM KATE IS ON THE EASTERN EDGE OF THIS
TROUGH.

Nearest official wave from Discussion

TROPICAL WAVES/ITCZ...
TROPICAL WAVE ALONG 28W SOUTH OF 12N MOVING WEST 10-15 KT.
ISOLATED MODERATE TO LOCALLY STRONG CONVECTION FROM 2N TO 9N

Shear is not favorable either.
