It's amazing to see Matthew and his mini-me Nicole. What a crazy sight.

Yeah I guess so. Seems the inner eye is just moving closer to the NE portion of the outer eye...the outer eye is moving NW, question will it wobble back west to get on track?

it is on track. the inner should not be tracked like that any longer. overall system movement is still NW the inner should rotate back west then south in a circle

Good point, looks like some of Florida should be impacted by the eyewall at some point, the good news is it much weaker.

Got to Sanibel Causeway on my bicycle reconnaissance mission and had to turn back for rain. Misjudged the speed of the outer band and it got me with small drop rain. Soaked.

Looking at that radar, not looking good for Ft. Lauderdale.

Really good news for folks in the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast in terms of track. I'd be very surprised to see any type of sustained hurricane force winds in PB County.

I think Nicole is helping erode the ridge more than we think.

So far, I've talked to several people in Fort Lauderdale, and the conditions aren't too bad at the moment. Obviously that can change, but they've had a few heavy wind gusts, but not much more.

No one should be too surprised considering it was never forecast to come in close enough in Broward or Dade.

In case this hasn't been posted yet, sanity prevails--UF/LSU game has been postponed.

In the southern inner eyewall I'm guessing? Yeah, I see it too.

Settlement Point in Grand Bahama is a good station to watch:

Everyone always grumbles at me when I say you don't see a strong hurricane with a second hurricane nearby. But Nicole's proximity could be having an effect.

To give a reference point, I really like this video of wind strength/damage to structures...
