what do you mean, the outer eyewall is headed right for you.
What should I expect?

Just measured 1.12 inches of rainfall in 26 minutes from a feeder band that moved through just south of Tampa. It was the first time I have seen my street completely covered by water. Luckily it didn't last long.

TV mets in West Palm are tracking the wrong eye...they should be tracking the large eye,

Just like we were fearful of a wobble to the West and the chance for getting landfall here; we hoped for a wobble to the East.

Yes, some WPB TV mets made that mistake.

NNW for past almost 2 hours according to radar.
When within 125 miles; that is HUGE.
Could be huge the other way had it jogged west

Such a weird satellite appearance. If not for the impressive eye, it'd be hard to believe that this is a sub-940 storm.

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

Re: ATL: MATTHEW - Hurricane - Discussion
There might be just enough Fujiwara effect between Matthew and Nicole to affect track.

Looks like it's gonna be a bust here. Probably gonna drive up to Melbourne to get some action, does anyone know if I-95 is still open

Re: ATL: MATTHEW - Hurricane - Discussion
A website calculates that based on the recon fix at 4:24 AM to the last fix at 3:17 PM, Matthew has averaged a heading of 325° during the past 11 hours, but every little NNW jog is helping in it staying on the right side of the forecasted track. At this point for it to make landfall in Cape Canaveral it has to start averaging at a 322 degree heading. Hopefully this is good news, I wouldn't be surprised if the track is shifted a little to the right from previous advisory, IMO.

Weather guys from WFTV Orlando have been right on about tracking the outer eye wall, with the inner eye wall rotating within the outer eye wall... watching via streaming all day... wx guys are doing a great job.. they are really concerned about storm surge off the central coast of FL...

It could always wobble back west but I am feeling pretty good here in Palm Beach County. I doubt we lose power here in East Boca Raton. Perhaps the ridge is not quite as strong as the GFS and Euro thought.

I know that we're all in wobble watch mode full time, but in those last few frames, there appears to be a pronounced eastward jog. Like others have said, it makes a difference now as to who eventually gets the full brunt of this system.
Noticing that too, and definitely NOT saying "hey look, Space Coast's in the clear." More like the fact that even a 20 mile jog to the right would be YUGE for the space coast, New Smyrna, Daytona and northward. People still should have evacuated though and I know a LOT of people in places like Merritt Island decided to ride it out which is a BAD idea!
And those people will probably brag about staying with the "See I knew it wouldn't hit".
And then the next time, they will do the same and be horribly wrong.

Looks like the velocity issue was fixed with the Miami radar (they were all shown as outbounds before). Values are now believable.

Is the lack of precipitation around the inner eye and the southwest part of the hurricane dry air? Does anyone think dry air is being entrained into the system?

4pm position update shows Matthew right on track with 140mph winds.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.
