Re: ATL: MATTHEW - Hurricane - Discussion
The vortex was updated from 936mb to 938mb. The earlier 936mb was a mistake.

It's amazing to see Matthew and his mini-me Nicole. What a crazy sight.
I think Nicole is helping erode the ridge more than we think.
It may not hit you per say but the coast north of WPB up to Space Coast-Jax still appear to get the worst of it. I hope the Ridge can get eroded but It looks doubtful.

what do you mean, the outer eyewall is headed right for you.
True but it is nothing like the inner eye wall that was Cat 4.
Outer wall probably significantly weaker.
Local Met says probably strong enough to have gusts to Hurricane Force and cause power outages though.

It's weird to see the double eyewall structure on IR considering the early stages of eyewall replacement still.

First feeder band into Cocoa beach was pretty ferocious at landfall but the vector shortened right up just inland.

I heard on Sirius XM Radio Show, The College Playbook it was cancelled. I guess those folks are wrong...
No, you are correct.
CANCELLED.
I guess attempts to buy out South Alabama and Presbyterian in November failed so no weekend to play a postponed game.

The 5pm update is not out. I am waiting to get confirmation from NHC. If they say NW at 5 then I will believe they are tracking the outer eye wall. Otherwise if it shows NNW or N which I doubt then I know they are following the inner eye wall still and believe it will continue to dominate.

And this could be a HUGE factor in both the SEC West and East races....goodness..

People need to realize some areas aren't suppose to see anything for 12 to 36 hours so saying you escaped the problem is actually a big problem if you think you are out of the woods already. When this storm gets closer to shore it could expand even more and cause more damage, so please don't think you are out of troubles way already.

They are too far apart and not close enough in size or strength for that. Also if it were to occur that would push Matthew to the SW.

If anything I would not be surprised for Nichole to actually enhance or pump up the high pressure to the east of Matthew... but just speculation on my part... guess we'll all find out in the next 12 hours or so...

According to Radarscope Pro, there is a TON of cloud to ground lightning in the northeast inner eyewall.

You realize, with all due respect, that the major stuff is way off shore..plus, with landfalling tropical systems, it can be a stair step ramp up...you will go from nothing to serious in an hour or two..

Re: ATL: MATTHEW - Hurricane - Discussion
In the last few bird's eye visible satellite views, it looks like its taking on some dry air or something causing it to lose a little bit of its inner structure. Any idea what's causing that or what it is?

Inner eye coming apart fairly quickly at the moment it appears on radar.
