I always try to make it to December before turning the heat on. Despite an overly warm October, with 23 outside and 53 inside this morning, I figured it was time though.

We're doing the November swing that makes me nervous. low 20s recent mornings and now forecast to be mid to upper 70s by late week, then back down again, T-storms forecast for Friday, but so far no mention of severe on the SPC site.

Not looking forward to the impending cooldown.
Hopefully it will be short-lived.

No real idea on January except I would not be surprised if it ended up being fairly mild. Paducah had a blurb, this morning I think, that if the temps fall 50 degrees withing a certain time it will be a new record. Good luck with that wild ride!

Re: Ohio Valley Region; Fall/Winter '16-'17
I was looking at that earlier:
"We may see a rare, but not unprecedented, temperature drop of 50 degrees during this time frame. The largest temperature drop from one calendar day to the next in Paducah was November 23-24, 1950, falling from 57 to -2, a difference of 59 degrees!"

1030AM, 68 Degrees
Opened a few windows to draw some of this warm air inside. Just need to watch for the changeover so I can get them closed before the cold air arrives.

I'm jealous, I don't think we will get that warm here.

I think it topped out at 72 a little while ago. Official is now showing 70, so we'll see what happens from here.
Heard a couple of thunder noises too.

Enhanced Risk kicked in with a few scattered TORs already issued.
