Maybe one day we'll live somewhere else. Lol.
Hard to believe the east coast would have 2 warm Christmases in a row though...

This run is very boring for TX. Much of the state gets less than 0.10 inch of precip over the next 2 weeks. I really hope that doesn't verify.

what a waste of a really good pattern if true.
Forget snow... where's the rain?

Re: Texas Winter 2016-2017
The euro will see out to 0z on Christmas Day
Let us hope...
Fropa Saturday Night appears to be dry in DFW
Sunday and Monday is brrrr
Edit the meteogram stopped loading but looking at the 850 temps on tidbits this run is headed for a disaster... no cold air
Wednesday has gone from a winter storm threat to highs in the 60s..
Dry front late Wednesday.
Let us hope...

I'm not so sure I'd worry too much about what the Euro is forecasting for Texas as far as temps go. I think it has a bias towards warmer weather here. The GFS just seems so much more plausible in my opinion. We'll see though

The Euro was right about the winter storm being cancelled last night though. It's not a good trend in any case.
Looking towards Christmas, Euro/GFS in pretty good agreement on a warmup and approaching system on Christmas Eve. Euro is pushing 70 degrees at DFW Christmas Eve, warmer than the GFS.

Yeah it's not a good trend, but the Euro is barely even forecasting below normal temps for my area while the GFS is forecasting well below normal temps. This is a freaking Artic blast coming down. How the Euro is barely forecasting below normal temps here is beyond me. That's why I'm hesitant to believe it right now.

The last time the models changed suddenly like this, it went back to Christmas snow, so I'm hoping the same thing happens with these next few runs.

Re: Texas Winter 2016-2017
The morning Updated CPC GFS Super Ensembles Day 11+ Analogs really have not changed regarding the expected Hemispheric Pattern expected around Christmas. Notices the Red shades across the Northern and NE Pacific as well as the SE and Eastern United States. A deep anomalous cold upper trough (indicated by the Blue shades) extends from Eurasia and Western Siberia across the North Pole into Alaska, Western Canada into the Great Basin and into the Great Plains. Also notice the Red (Upper Ridging) over Central Siberia where temperatures are currently running -50+ below zero.
