Who's staying up for the Euro tonight? It starts running in about 30 minutes.
Will it hold serve or trend towards the 0z GFS and CMC?

I'm going to finish this whiskey and then hit the bed. LSU plays early tomorrow!

I'll be up to watch the Euro meteogram at least, then we'll see how interesting it is.

Looks like (at least through 120hrs) Euro is trending with the GFS

Yep, I'm noticing that as well. 0z runs have not been good to us who want frozen precip next week...

Wednesday is dry and in the 40s. No precip through Thursday morning. DFW does hit 32 barely Thursday morning. Highs around 40 Thursday, still dry.

I don't buy the models right now. They're on something really good if you get what I mean. Plus we're kinda in that medium range where they often lose the cold. It'll most likely come back in a couple days & it wouldn't surprise me if someone gets some winter fun out of this. Gotta have some faith. It just doesn't make any sense whatsoever to show the type of cold it was showing (pretty consistently btw from hour 384 on in) and then nothing comes out of it.

It's going to be a dry run. System is off the coast of Oregon. Core of the cold looks shunted north and east

I have this feeling it's gonna crush the same areas the GFS crushed...
Or not have much of a storm at all...

Re: Texas Winter 2016-2017
This is my last winter in Texas for the foreseeable future. Moving to Minneapolis Metro area in late February.
I don't know if I should wishcast for a Texas Snowstorm this winter OR if a few years in Minneapolis will make me hate the snow and ice......
I have never lived anywhere else, so snow machines, ice fishing, and pond hockey will be new experiences for us.
As for Texas this winter...... I'll believe it will snow or ice when I see it actually happening. Harold Taft - oh how we need you now!

Man what a shift in the models tonight. We'll see if it's just a blip or a trend tomorrow.

Luckily it is 120+ hours away still but man it's been a rough evening after the past few days

Luckily it is 120+ hours away still but man it's been a rough evening after the past few days. The models tonight wants to amplify the northern wave a lot and everything gets dragged to the east vs south, while pinching off the system in the NW. Where is the southeast ridge when you need it?
yeah I'm a little annoyed atm that the neverending southeast ridge up til now magically goes away and wrecks our setup lol
Fortunately it is that far out. Could be a totally different solution tomorrow.

Will need to monitor for Severe thunderstorms with all modes of severe weather possible across Texas New Years Day extending East into Louisiana on Monday.

And the 6z GFS is kinda back with the snow in the southern plains
...yeah lets wait until Sun-Monday before believing anything. Way too chaotic and moving parts that yet to really exist.

As you can all see, I'm having some luck adjusting the southern U.S. thermostat upwards for next week. Perhaps in another day or two I'll be able to get rid of that nasty Arctic air completely.

I know Reliant is headquartered in Houston, but Matthew McConaughey would be very displeased if you were trying to manipulate Texas weather with your Nest Thermostat.

We must kidnap Wxman57 to get his hands off of the controls. We will return him safely in mid March.
