Decent amount at 1-30 and Montgomery in Ft Worth. My daughter reported snow in Mansfield a while ago.

I'm glad you're getting to see some snow Brent!
Now we've got to go to work and get some snow down to the Austin area this winter for Portastorm and the Central Texas folks. I'd ship every flake that I've seen today down to him in a heartbeat if I could.
Snowing lightly here in Denison with big flakes at the moment, not as much as it was an hour or two ago. May be about done with it. If so, we'll end up with 1/2 to 1-inch in the area from what I can tell. But it has been enough to cause some driving problems with a few fender benders and at least one rollover accident that I've heard of.
Stay safe everyone.

Didn't get anywhere near the 1-3" that was forecasted locally. It seems to be winding down and we ended up with a light dusting. Now With it clearing off I can expect tonight's low will be around the forecasted low of 9.

Now that you've had a taste of snow up there in the D-FW area, can we declare winter over and warm things up for the remainder of the winter? I saw a good 0.1" of very cold rain today...

I'm on the 8th floor in Farmer's Branch, I see some of the folks that work in the building outside throwing snow at each other. Have to search for the snow though, like flower beds or low spots in the grass.

Just thought I'd jump in with my first post and say that we've got a light layer on the ground here by DFW. It's certainly been fun to watch it come down from my desk this afternoon!

Nope. Austin and Houston need some.

IIRC, all the local TV guys said it would be a "dusting" of snow with no travel impacts in Dallas county. This was last night on the 10 PM news.
At what point was there an indication that the 700mb front was moving further south?

The first week of January? Declare winter over?
Ummm, in a word, no.

And certainly not until you let Portastorm and the folks in Central Texas and Tireman4 and the folks in SE Texas have some winter weather fun.

Waiting in line to get my daughter and nephew from school. No early dismissal for Irving. What isn't covered in snow is very wet. Rush hour is going to be nasty I'm afraid.

Unfortunately when it's in the low 20s and been below freezing for a long stretch, it doesn't take much.

NO! Us cold mongers will have more to come your way after your brief respite next week.
