Yikes! It won't be that hot here today, but they said on the news they expect a high temperature of103, with a heat index of 108 to 114. So, it will basically "feel like" it did in McAllen yesterday.



Looking forward and hoping for lower temps and wetter weather!

The latest NAM 3km, HRRR, and Tech WRF all show some good rains tomorrow morning up and down the I-35 corridor. Let's hope they verify.

Ridging (-EPO) in NW North America is keeping us at NW flow aloft. So after today weather will remain active and generally below average through next week.

My sisters dragged me out. One of them lives in Shreveport and came down for the weekend. Being outside was the last thing I wanted to do but seeing as how we don't get a chance to have all the siblings together, I figured as long as I spray 20 layers of sun block and stay in the shade I'd be okay. Even in the shade it was terrible. Really looking forward to some rain.

I actually believe it in this case. NW flow tends to do this in the summer when we get the rare cool spells. Same thing happened in July 2013 and 2014. Kept 70s for a day. It's not just the HRRR but OP and other hiRES models too

Not to mention if they are right we add to the monthly rain total. Could be 5-7" for the month which May sorely missed

Also 93E in the EPAC is worth watching. While it probably won't strike Mexico and recurve, it may head north close enough next week where a big plume of moisture might get drawn up while the upper weakness is over us. Now that would be fun!

There's been hints of an unsettled pattern for 4th of July weekend or so so we'll see(granted its still fantasy land but FWD did hint at it at the end of the AFD)... I hope this continues all summer.

Yes! Pattern looks active. I agree I could go about this all summer. Honestly really today's heat I was willing to take knowing that it would be cooler the next day. I could live with that kind of heat, just not the months on end.

BTW some back building of storms moving through eastplexers.
