Re: Strong Tropical Wave emerging West Africa
It looked like the GFS-Para was going to follow the GFS some, but the major difference is that the GFS-Para is traveling lower. It ends up clipping South America, and it seems to kill the storm.

The 18z GFS ensembles are very bullish and is less than 200 hours. (186 hours in this graphic)

The 00z GFS early on seems to be strengthing this quicker. 1009 mb closed low at 66, in the middle of the MDR. Interested to see where this leads.

I'm a busy grad student, not a professional forecaster. Please refer to the NHC and NWS for official forecasts.

Waiting on the GFS to come to its senses although it's trending stronger this run.

Re: Strong Tropical Wave just off African coast
Evening nice to know someone is watching it, I know the runs earlier today were less aggressive and some feel develpment possibilities have gone down. But I think when it gets close to the Islands we will start to see it get it's act together.

Thank you for posting the images, I know a lot of people have been knocking the GFS lately. But it has been consistent on this wave lets wait and see.

Parallel GFS is also much more organized than any previous run.

Hard to imagine NHC not putting a lemon on this soon.

Probably the most organized we've seen it from the GFS-P to date.
