Dennis....it doesn't help that I don't like OJ. Never have liked Orange Juice. Mondays and Tuesdays are my longest days! Monday I leave home at 8am and get back at 430pm....all classes! Tuesday I leave at 415am and get back at 930pm! Work, Plasma, school, work....and then finally home! :o So needless to say, its plenty of meds to get me through the day.... Today I'm better, but I have tons of sinus pressure! What's Ecinacia (some kinds of meds?) Rest has been wonderful....I only saw the first half of the Packer game last night....was in bed by 930pm. But, had to get up at 345am this morning for work! :o

You think your temps were cold???? :o It was 34* when I left for work at 415 this morning!!! Thankfully, I didn't have to scrape my windshield. There is a possibility of the 4 letter S-word tonight and through the week. :o :o

Well off to the rest of my classes.............

Shannon, we should start the sicky club or something!! Just started my new job today, and felt like crap for most of it, but NyQuil is taking the edge off now, lol. WalMart seems like it should work out pretty darn good for me though, so I am happy! And for the record: I used to like O.J., until I had this incident involving vodka, and now I can't stomache it!!

And for another record: We turned on the heat tonight, in SEPTEMBER, what gives?! LOL

Good morning all,

It's a chilly 46° here in the Burgh. I'm trying to get ready to go to Roanoke for my Grandaughter's BD. Boy do I have a lot of work to finish first.

Shannon girl you need to slow down!!!! I hope you get some rest this weekend.

StormcrazyI, too much vodka in that OJ does leave a bad taste in your mouth. Good luck on your new job.

Well gang, I've brought some Krispy Kremes (the chocolate covered one is for David). Don't let Crouton get it!!!

I'll put on a fresh pot of coffee and throw a few logs on the fire.

Have a great day

CROUTON!!!! COME BACK HERE WITH THAT KK!!!!! DARN!!!! Foiled again!!!!  THAT DARN PIG!!!! Speaking of that darn pig has anyone heard from his former owner or let him know where Crouton is these days? Wasn't that Bob Stokes and wasn't he in NC? CRS has set in on this one!

Karan, the pic has been sent. Don't know how soon it will grace the pages! It will be beautiful additon though. And thanks for trying on the KK!!! :?

Shannon, I had to go rest after your post!!! You still wear me out!!! I don't think I was ever that energetic!! That sinus pressure is killer! Sent me into a full blown pull out the real drugs headache the other day. Still fighting it a little. The S word!!! Hard to believe isn't it? We were down to 58º this morning, way below normal for the 2nd day in a row and I'm loving it!! Still waiting and wondering if we are even going to have our Indian Summer here. It is now past due. If it doesn't show I suspect we are in for a colder than normal winter season.

SCI, congrats on the new job at Wally World. I've heard they are a really good employer. Now we have someone "on the inside" to keep us posted. Hope you get to feeling better!! did ya get that frost yet?

Me thinks Dennis is in the wrong room here with the heat they are having in AZ!!! They've stolen all our warmth!!

Well I'll head out for other places with an adios to all my friends. See ya'll later!!

Well I have been in the same boat. Got sick last week - had to work over the weekend - went out to the races - where Vbhoutex crossed paths - but didn't know it was each other.....have to laugh at it - we are like buds here and get in public and don't know each other. Planning on meeting up in late October at the races this time.

Got really sick Sunday - came home from church and laid on the couch all day long - was so sick. Got up like a trooper and went to work Monday - suffered all day long - came home that night and was steadily getting worse - but took meds and went to bed. Had to be a work on Tuesday - doing inventory at the warehouse for year-end. Well around 2:30 - I lost my voice completely and breaking out in sweats. I went home took meds that I had bought Monday night - slept all evening - then I got up this morning and BAMM - no voice still and aches and chills - so I am staying home from work - already slept 5 hours this morning. Called the doctor but they couldn't see me until Thursday afternoon - so I'm going to get over this on my own. Drinking alots of Peach/Apricot juice - since I too can't stomach orange juice too much acid.

So I hope to be on the rode to recovery later today or soon.....

David - i'm taking a couple of them KK donuts.

I found that out by a visit to the ER at 1:45 this morning. Not fun when you've been up for 17 hours straight. :o At least the pain is almost gone now. :)

Its time to enjoy nature y'all...my advice for good health is to hop in your car, find a nice state park, and stay a night or two, enjoying the beautiful cool weather, breathing in deeply of the fresh clean air, and you'll feel revived in no time at all!

You dont' work when you have ear infections....oh my...that's interesting. I work in a pool, and ear infections are part of the job....unfortunately, they happen on a monthy basis. So the mission when I have an ear infection is not to go under. I don't know where my ear plugs went, but it would be wise to find them!

As for the cold....its pretty much gone. :D :D Aleve Cold and Sinus works wonders!

I have more time during the rest of the week. Usually, wednesdays and fridays are my slow days....but I have to consider in homework that is due on Thursday.... I have my stats to do tonight, then I'm done with homework. (Had Hydrology, but finished that) Thursdays its rather busy from 430am to 2pm, then an hour 15 min break before work....then done at 7pm. (not as busy as Tuesdays) My mom doesn't expect me home til the evening hours anyways. Next week is going to be heck....midterms on monday, wednesday and friday!

Don't ask about my day, lets hope it gets better. If this gives you a clue....MIDTERM.

Hi y'all. I don't mind if I do get one of those donuts and some coffee. (Thanks Karan) I've been on the go all day, repairing our bathroom floor. I took up the old vinyl sheet, found some rotten wood next to the tub, and replaced it. What a mess! In one place it rotted through both layers of wood and I had to do some work from below, in the basement. I put some cement stuff in the cracks between the boards and am now waiting for it to dry before putting down the tiles. I got a box of vinyl tiles for cheap and plan to put them down. Hope they'll hold up, with the kids splashing water on the floor.

Pojo- Hydrology, that's interesting. What's your major? I had one class of that. When I went to school, we didn't have PC's so it was all hand calculation. I'll bet it's really changed since then.

Josh, Ticka, StormCrazy, Pojo, vbhoutex, Dennis(did I miss anyone?) I hope you're allfeeling better soon. Being sick is no fun.

I see that the boards have been reshuffled again. It's gettin so you need a map to navigate around any more!

Well, I'm going to surf the rest of the off topic and then get back to work.

Have Fun!

Evening folks!

GUESS WHAT??? "ONLY 6 MO' DAYS TILL VACATION!" WOOOOHOOOOOOO! Down boy, down! Bet ya can't tell I'm excited huh? "LOL!" MAN......this has been the year from HADES and let me tell ya.....I can't WAIT until vacation, I've got the VACA attitude, I don't care about NUTHIN', all I can think about and taste is those KILLER Margaritas at Gardunou's and the REAL New Mexican Food * as he wipes the drool off the keyboard*

Ticka....geesh lady, take care of yourself would ya?? You too Jackie, pojo, Josh, David!

Karan, I had completly forgot about Crouton, poor pig! Dave, it was Bob Childs who invited Crouton to the PBS, that's O'TAY, I FULLY understand that "CRS" bit......

ANOTHER "HOT" day here GEEESH.........BUT, relief is ALMOST here, starting tonight and well into the weekend, RAIN and COOOOOOOOL temps, FINALLY, ya know, I know it's October (almost my BDAY too) but it feels more like JUNE......ah well, like I said, better enjoy it while I can, I'll be cryin' about it being too cold soon enough "LOL!"

OH.....I'm gonna be a bach for a day or 2, Michelles going to visit her mom for a coupla days, WAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...."PARTY at the PBS!" NOT! HEY.......is that Bob Vila I see??? Naaaa, just Ed "LOL!" Gotta admire your craftsmanship Ed, knowing my luck, soon as I pull the rotten wood from the tub, the darn thing would find itself IN the basement!

WEll, no relief here yet, but I am doing my best! I took some NyQuil, so I have the temp-relief thing going!

LOL, yeah Wally World should be pretty fun! Did y'all know WalMart is the world's largest company and second largest employer, only second to the U.S. government, which we will surpass in 2005?? Just thought I would throw some fun facts at ya!

Ok, back to the b's- Blankets and bed rest!! Have a good night everyone!

I am a receptionist so I would have a phone up to my ear and be in constant contact with people and phones all day anyway. :( I think the stress from last weekend caused it.

The two Krispy Kremes I took for a snack...well they were more like Sticky Kremes...it was 102 here again today!

You would laugh out loud if you heard local weathercasters talking about the cold front bringing highs ONLY in the 90's for the weekend...as if it were time to break out the mittens! I mean they really go on and on about it.

I will say, though, that if it cools that much (10-15 degrees) it will be very noticable and people will be very happy to see it arrive. Been a hot one this year..but then this IS the desert.

Illnesses...funny I was at Walgreens today buying sinus spray and Visine to help with the dry itchy eyes. You'd think the seasons were changing or something. We'll be in full planting season here in about 2-3 weeks...EVERYONE will be buying flowers and the desert will turn colorful once again!

Have a busy October at work...installing some new high-tech equipment and will have it all up and running by the 27th...Can't wait! I love new toys...especially ones I don't have to write a personal check for! Stop by for a tour of the plant when you get to Phoenix...a red carpet tour and I'll give you a couple quarters for the candy machine. What could be better!!!

SCI...is your Walmart and Super Walmart? Groceries and all? Hope it works out for you. In a few years, I may just go after a job as a greeter at ours....you know, the old guys and gals who give you a cart even if you don't want one!

Have a good Thursday everyone...and BE SAFE. A terrible bus/truck accident along I-90 in Illinois today, just about 20 minutes from where I used to live.

Appreciate the day.

Good Morning!

This "IS" October, right? Sitting here looking out the north facing window watching an AWESOME lightning display :o First sign of the cold front moving in.....forecast calls for sustained winds of 30-40 with gusts over "50" mph :o "LOL@Azskyman!" I know........watching the 5 o'clock news last night, I had to laugh, like you said, better break out the mufflers, mittens, knit skull caps "Brrrrr!" 8-) That's odd listening to you talk about planting flowers, our season is over, the leafs are changing colors FAST, our flowers beds are all but gone, well, except the autumn Mums, talk about BEEEE UTE EFUL

Fixing to send Michelle off on her little trip, I'm not gonna know how to act, 2 whole days to myself?? 8-)

Not much else going on this early morning, I've made a fresh pot O' cowboy coffee! Make it a great day would ya?

Dennis 8-)

I did cut one wrong and had to waste it.

I just put on a pot of coffee for whoever drops in.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning wxbuddies. I hope all of you that are under the weather (no pun intended) get feeling better soon. :)

I took the morning off from college because I am trying to get ready to be gone until Sunday for a bluegrass festival. It felt nice sleeping in until *gulp* 6:00 a.m. Speaking of which, I think I may have some coffee. Thanks Ed! :D

Everyone have a good day and have a great weekend, too. Someone try to keep Jacki in line over the weekend, okay? ;)

Hey now! I'm sick, that is a handicap!

Actually, not feeling too bad, can breathe a lot better today. But my throat is sooooo scratchy, I think I hate that the most, I have to cough almost every time I swallow!! LOL

Enough about that! Yes, my WalMart will have groceries. Our grand opening will be October 29, and on that day 42 other WalMarts will also have their grand opening!! Talk about a big company! We are going to have a big event, even have someone sing The National Anthem, one of us, I think once I completely get over this cold, I just might audition! :D That would be awesome!

Still chilly in my parts! Had our freeze this morn, so I officially declare growing season here over! Got down to 26°F, that is quite chilly for this time of year, two degrees shy of the record!

Ok, kiddies, think I will finish my hot chocolate and catch up around here, have a great afternoon!

Jacki, ya gotta get over that cold so you can audition!!! That would be awesome!! To bad you can't wear Storm2k wear of some sort. Gee, I'll be able to say I knew her when once that carreer takes off!! :D

Dennis, I was thinking the same thing you were just now, except going the opposite way!! So far we have only gotten to 76º here today. That is about 12º below normal and we are expecting lows in the low 50's tomorrow. We haven't even had our normal "Indian Summer" yet and the pattern I am seeing is about 2 months ahead of schedule. If it continues like this I definitely see a colder than normal winter in my parts. Maybe KOW's prediction of a good chance of snow in our are will come true!

Fortunately, my sinuses have let up somewhat and I feel better. Thanks for all the concern and good thoughts guys and gals.

Steve, I was so glad you and Kathy had a good time in Hawaii. Thanks for the pic too.

Coriolis you must be related to me!! Fortunately I had left overs that could be used in hidden places where they weren't noticeable and a few were put down the "wrong way"(with the arrow on the bottom pointing the wrong way), but it isn't noticeable. Thank goodness concrete doesn't rot like wood!! Just a little bit of baseboard to put down and the BR will be finished.

Pojo, I know you'll breeze through those midterms!! You always do!! Looks like you will be one of the first if not the first on the board to see the flakes fly! I can't believe the lows we are seeing here in Houston, much less up where you are!

Funny thing about Ticka and I is I almost told her "bless you" once when she sneezed at the race track!!LOL!!! I had no idea it was her either!!! Next time we are setting it up so we know who is who. I think I will wear my Storm2k hat and maybe shirt if it is warm enough. That way she will know it is me for sure.

Garret, keep plucking away or at least enjoying the music. Have fun!!!

Laters all!!! Have a great day(at least what is left of it!).

Good Evening Everyone!

There are quite a few people that are sick huh?? I had that flu/cold/virus - whatever a couple of weeks back and it was no fun. The antibiotic that my doctor prescribed to me really worked. I first had the scratchy throat and then I felt feverish and achy. I slept from 5:00 pm Friday to Saturday morning! Then the thoat got really sore and I was very congested, but it was centered more around my ears and throat. I had felt like my throat wanted to close up. By Tuesday I called the doctor and the medication helped to break it up quickly. I hadn't been ill like that for a long time. What's pissing me off now is that I'm sneezing alot AGAIN!!!!

Sure Dennis, rub it in pal!!!

I'm so glad that Crouton, Slowpoke and Clarabelle are with us again. The PBS is almost complete - we're still missing a few original members and hopefully they can make their way over to S2K in time.

My PC crashed yesterday at work. It wasn't even a year old - an IBM. Someone else's crashed as well. I've been hopping between two desks today and HOPEFULLY the new hard drive will be in and I can get mine back tomorrow.

I hope everyone is feeling better soon! Get alot of rest and have a wonderful evening!
