#1 Postby TexasStooge » Wed Oct 01, 2003 11:37 am

ARLINGTON, Texas (KXAS NBC 5) -- An accident involving a bus sent six teenagers to a local hospital in Arlington Wednesday morning.

A sport utility vehicle reportedly rear-ended the bus, which was on its way to Arlington Lamar High School and was picking up students on a Highway 360 service road near Green Oaks.

Police say the driver of the SUV was talking on a cellular phone when the accident happend.

Some students complained of suffering whiplash, ankle and shoulder injuries.

Six teens were taken to a local hospital, two of them on stretchers.

All six were all treated and released.

That's why you should NOT use the cell phone while DRIVING!!!

Good gracious!! Not trying to take away from this tragedy, but same thing happened yesterday afternoon here in Pascagoula. Involved was a SUV, Cadillac and a Honda Accord. The woman was on her cell phone and pulled out in front of the Honda which caused them both to hit the Cadillac waiting on the light. Mind you, this was 3:00 and there were children waiting to cross the street with the crossing guard to get home. The Cadillac was on the same side of the street where the children were standing. It was bad. If I have to talk on mine I will immediately pull over, otherwise it is turned off while I am in the car.
