00z Euro has trended farther north again. Looks to come in just north of Tampico. Would send us some good moisture.

Picked up 1/4" yesterday afternoon. This morning it's currently 83 with a little rain band about to come through. Every August should be like this.

12zHWRF has a NE Mexico Landfall by Friday Morning as a Hurricane and 12zHMON has a landfall north of Tampico in the same time frame. Going to be interesting to see where exactly and how strong the remnants of Harvey are when they emerge over the BOC. In my opinion I think the chances of future Harvey to track as far north as South Texas are remote but worth keeping a close eye on tho!

101 at Camp Mabry today, 99 at the airport. This was the 40th day this year when Mabry hit 100 or higher. I believe in 2013 we had 42 days and we should beat that. Of course the bar is set high with the 2011 nightmare (an incredible 90 days).

Sure hope we get some rain and cooler temps later this week. We had a nasty flare up in Bastrop yesterday which burned a number of acres, caused some neighborhood evacuations, and briefly closed Highway 71. It's getting pretty bad down here.

HWRF looks kind of like Alex 2010 with Harvey...

Alex was probably the biggest most expansive hurricane that i could remember. I was in East Texas in Nacogdoches when it was in the Gulf and its bands were reaching all the way up there.

I haven't been following Harvey's remnants much the past day or two, still looks like a mess. Any redevelopment will have to wait till BOC and unless it quickly develops a strong LLC that is stacked, it will take time to develop.

Now if you want to see a real hurricane, Kenneth in the EPAC is on verge to Cat 4

CFSv2 monthly forecast is calling for a colder than normal September. It has been awhile since we've seen one of those. Fingers crossed

While the set up is not 1:1. The events that transpires through the end of the month (mingled with Harvey) reminds me of Hermine 2010. Someone will get a lot of rain

That would be devastating flooding for the Hill country if verified

If 40 inches of rain ever fail anywhere within a 15 day period it wouldn't matter where you are at, it would be a crazy, biblical like flood. And for the Hill Country that'd a year's worth of rain in a week, even half of that would be crazy, heck 10 inches of rain in the hill country would be disastrous.

Man this run of the Euro is scary. That would cause ridiculous amounts of rain.

Meanwhile, eclipse viewing weather is downright delightful here in North Dallas. 89 degrees with a low 70's dewpoint. Not too shabby for mid-August. :sun:

My goodness ... the 12z Euro is showing Biblical rainfall totals for much of south central, south, and southeast Texas over the next eight days.

Largest one I saw was a 24" total for NE Waller County. Anywhere from 12-20" would fall in Harris County. My own county, Travis County, would get 4-7".
