At this point I think Miami will be lucky to get one inch of rain. The atmosphere has just seemed suppressed around here for most of the summer, outside of a handful of days. Maybe if the big blob by Andros makes its way here...

Sorry I'm preoccupied by Harvey. I posted that last night on Harvey's page. I still think this is going to go, and I still think it's the Friday/Saturday timeframe that this will make a run. How and whether it affects South Florida or on up the East Coast is unknown at this point. But don't sleep on the potential.

Just FYI, if 92L starts to get it's act together the 'contest' posts will need to be halted. Perhaps this could be done in another thread?

Just thinking out loud here but I am wondering whether or not this southernmost vorticity lobe will end up being the one that takes over. In other words, I wonder if we are tracking the wrong feature? The northern one is over land and has 30 knots of shear over it and the one near Cuba has much less shear.

Can I get into this contest? I'm going for the under as well, but not by much.

That looks like some kind of vorticity has developed on the NW side of Andros with convection displaced to the east:
