COD has 1-min option for mess floaters, one of which is over Harvey.

Never seen anything like it, amazing. That fast. It shows all the hot towers and convection in the eyewall wrapping around the eye.

I was wrong, that is actually 30-sec imagery. I mean...my goodness. I love GOES-16.

Anyway. Still looking better each minute. Eye is popping out again and strong convection has wrapped around it on the N side.

Yeah, 75% of this thing now has a thick eyewall band surrounding it. Once the north closes off, look out! I believe we are starting to see that process now.

EDIT: eyeWall, not eyeBall.

Updated radar loop, NNW wobble during the past couple of hours.
Overall is still moving NW towards the area between Corpus Christi & Port O'Connor.

Yep. Internal fluctuations are difficult to predict or understand, but it appears that Harvey is about to have its core the way it needs to for another round of rapid intensification. Most models have been the most bullish about rapid intensification from this point until landfall. Will be very interesting to watch unfold.

My goodness, I'm literally watching the eyewall form and grow in the N and NE sections. I hope nobody in TX went to bed thinking this was going to underperform, because IMO, it's right on schedule.

Despite all the wobbles, it seems to be on a straight NW heading with a beeline to the Rockport, maybe Seadrift area. The question is will anything come into play before landfall to cause a deviation?
