Count me in as a skeptic back then, but I'm usually so when it comes to the Atlantic the past decade after some false alarms. But Harvey is the real deal. I hope remnants gives us at least 3" of rain...
Also the models are beginning to hint that Harvey loops around where it makes landfall for days never really pushing east...this has the potential to go down as one of if not the greatest flood events in US history. The area near Port Aransas to Victoria may set some US rainfall records.

How does this compare to Katrina at landfall? As I recall she was weakening as she approached.

Katrina made landfall as a Cat 3 125mph but she was considerably larger and stronger at her peak. Harvey is a rapidly strengthening storm as it is approaching and looking better near landfall. Technically Harvey is stronger coming in at Cat 4 near landfall 130mph but Katrina is notorious because of New Orlean's vulnerability.
