Local weatherman in Beamount just said that it wont be moving east anymore, how is he so sure?

Some latest guidance suggest Harvey will miss the incoming trof and meander in Texas for days to a week. It's a possibility, that does not mean your area is out of the woods. Prolific rainfall is still a problem.

"Won't move east" would be a forecast that could blow up though

Structure is incredible. Been a long time in this basin there was a storm that classic right at landfall. Awe inspiring but really frightening appearance, doesn't seem to be affected by being practically halfway ashore yet.

Is this comparable in size to Carla? I know Carla was really big, large enough to cover the entire Texas Coast, and the Houston Chronicle at the time said "I saw her engulf miles of beach in her moist mouth."

Hopefully the destruction from Harvey won't be so great the Chron is reduced to spouting really iffy-sounding doggerel.
