Re: ATL: HARVEY - Hurricane - Discussion
Well folks it looks like Harvey is one for the BIG record books along with Andrew, Katrina and others. That major hurricane drought was bound to end someday soon and here we are 4,324 days later with what will likely be Texas' deadliest storm in AGES! Stay safe folks in Rockport, surrounding communities, and the rest of the NW U.S. Gulf Coast.

I don't know if it is my computer or not but Jeffs feed pauses, then I refresh the page, it starts again for 5 seconds then pauses again...

Said they are going to go take cover behind the Walmart.
Hope that Walmart was built by the same company that made the blue shed.
Eh that Walmart is disguised as a FEMA center

Nope, he's on sat so he's dropping out a lot, same thing is happening here. Don't bother to refresh unless it goes down for 30 seconds.

I feel sorry for all those people that have decided to wait it out in Victoria, now that they are expecting this storm to still be a hurricane at this time tomorrow just west of Victoria. And then Monday Night being a TS at the same exact spot he is right now.

Rockport getting close to Southern eye. Wind going to blast out of the West but Piotrowski is re positioning to the North Side of Walmart?

Recon showing Harvey hasn't weakened at all since landfall. SFMR showing 113 knots.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.
Re: ATL: HARVEY - Hurricane - Discussion
I don't remember exactly how many hours they use to extrapolate forward motion is it 12 or 24 hours? I know it is saying it is moving at 7 MPH, but that is because of the forward movement it had earlier today, but with the stall it currently has it will be dropping down each advisory to where it says stationary or 1 or 2 MPH

txwatcher91 wrote:The eye has a weird shape on radar, with little vortices in four quadrants. Any idea if that means it’s weakening or not really? It still looks good on IR but has signs of cloud tops warming now.
Those are eyewall mesovortices, it's like TCs counterpart to Tornado's suction vortices.

I don't think you can put too much stock in SFMR readings this close to land...but I may be wrong.

I'm worried about this guy, he's out driving around and out of the eye. May need a rescue.
