He didn't leave. He was just streaming from there like 20 minutes ago. He's holed up outside of a Walmart with Jim Edds.

Mission accomplished. Go find a blue shed in a safe spot, Jeff!
Another storm chaser mentioned this about 10 minutes ago, via my friend. Apparently something having to do with a massive explosion near and the group needing to leave Rockport. That is all i know
Info's moving fast tonight. Again praying they made it out safely!
Jeff said it himself, did you guys get that? Everyone on my live feed on YT are talking about it as well...

Did not hear that part, but did hear him talking about smelling a lot of natural gas and propane in the air.

Before it went offline, it looked like he was having a hard time finding a safe location near the Walmart. Chunks of the roof or something were falling down.

Any forecast I make is based on my opinion only. Please refer to the NWS or NHC for official forecasts.
Re: ATL: HARVEY - Hurricane - Discussion
I heard Jeff mention that there was/is a lot of natural gas aloft in the area, but with the wind he did not perceive their to be any explosion risk.
Did something change?

Totally insane. Won't be surprised if Harvey causes Katrina-like carnage once it's all done due to the fact that it will stall over Texas for days. It is now near the mouth of Copano Bay.

Hurricanes are an amazing natural phenomena. While many are spiraling pits of evil that kill people or cause devastation, some are tame and stay clear of land.

Refugio?????
Town of near 3,000 people. Looking at the radar on the Weather Channel and it shows the heaviest band near the eyewall about to strike the town.

How could he even get out? He's in the eye surrounded by 130 MPH winds. There's nowhere to go.

I don't know, I just don't know man. I just keep hearing that chasers are fleeing and various reports of crazy stuff happening there. I don't know how, I don't know why, all I know for sure is that Jeff has been down for over 30 minutes..

Looks like only one or two commenters saying he left Rockport and talking about explosions, I think someone heard him say the storm was explosive and took it out of context. I haven't seen mention of explosions elsewhere, I would guess a local media outlet would have reported it by now.
Who knows at this point? Just hope Jeff, Jim, Simon, Brandon and everyone else makes it through safely.

Jeff said it himself, did you guys get that? Everyone on my live feed on YT are talking about it as well...
So you first said "via a friend" and then change it to, "Jeff said it himself"
I was watching his feed. He talked about a Gas smell and possible leaks but never said anything about an explosion. It's this type of hyperbole and incorrect communications, rumors, and false information that could literally put live at risk.
