Just when you think Houston might get a chance to catch their breathe, another band is filling in offshore

Every gauge maintained by the Harris County Flood Control District has topped a foot of rain for the event except for four, and they will be topping that mark shortly.

Main Feeder Band is now east of the bay.
Looks like Beaumont, Port Arthur will take the brunt of it.

Harvey is drifting SE now. As it gets closer to the GOM, look for more convective bands setting up on the east side of the storm. Houston flooding now more catastrophic than Allison when 43 died. I fear now a much higher death toll.

Listening to Houston emergency frequencies for a while this morning. To no one's surprise, police and fire units are having grave difficulties in answering calls due to high water.

TX Gov. Abbott: "This appears to be either the worst or one of the worst floods we've ever had. We're measuring in feet." #Harvey

Unbelievable. I can't imagine what an additional 20 inches of rain would do. Catastrophic.

REMINDER

This is not the time for amateur proclamations (statements made without evidence, wild guesses, etc.), especially when an event is happening. Posts of this nature will be removed and repeated offences will result in account suspension.

As bad as landfall was, this is what many of us have portrayed as the catastrophe and what Harvey will be remembered for, the extreme flooding. Millions are in the Houston area who were complacent because he did not make landfall there but that is the area being hit hardest with flooding.

Was this directed at my post? I'm watching KHOU out of Houston and the forecaster just said he thinks the possibility of an additional 20 inches is possible. It's not my prediction.
