It is straight south of Matagorda and appear to be moving pretty much due south at the moment. we dont want that..
its exposed as the shear right now is moderate. shear drops off the farther south it goes.

Can you provide me with the copy paste from the email? It's been requested from someone living in the area.

This storm has a lot of life left in it. I think that 997 mb forecast at second landfall is too tame. Watch for pressure drops around sunset as consolidation progresses.

also looks like there is a bit of a dry air push coming in from the west lets see if the convection maintains..

Geez, Houston still taking it on the chin. And it looked like today, might be somewhat better. But any reorganization now that its back over water, has to be concerning. Those feeder bands are going to intensify to the east of the center and continue to stream up over Galveston and then Houston.

Total novice here. At this point in time, what is waiting in the wings to usher this mess out of here or completely disrupt its circulation, and where the heck is it? What ray of hope can we watch for in the atmosphere?
Thank you.
Edited to add: The duration of this tropical event locked into one area of a coastline seems unprecedented. Normally they move, at least some, and I'm not talking about in the open seas or in the case of this one, like a 1960s Spirograph.

Thank you.

Thank you.
We need a good cold front/trough of low pressure to swing down through the west and Midwest states and suck this sucker up and out over the Mississippi Valley. That would get it moving and get it out of here.

Ben hearing that much of the morning from people in Houston area. I take those anecdotal reports seriously. Storm center is hardly any closer to Houston than earlier (perhaps slightly), but I think you're sensing that you have a storm which is now for all intents and purposes back over water and in a reorganizing phase.
Winds coming out of the NNE too. Its trying to pull itself together.
Whoa. Almost like he's sensing he's starving and heading back to the water to fill up on moisture again.
...
Why do I have such an urge to personify storms? I mean once we started giving them human names it's almost like people are asking for it.

I know I can't straddle the atmosphere...just a tiny storm in your teacup, girl.

Lord almighty, with that radar pic, and storm in slow motion off coast now, can anyone see anything to alter this rainfall event over Houston. It looks so much worse now for SE Texas with the storm back off the coast.

Center of circulation looks oblong and some of it still over land.

There is some SW to NE shear to it; but, that rotating and deepening cell very close to the better-looking CoC is indeed very interesting.
I remember one time, a long while back, seeing a TC intensify in the Glades.
I do as well.
Trying to remember which one, but it definitely occurred.

What a fantastic pic!! Keep 'em coming. Impressed with two things--first that obvious blow up of T storms to the north of the COC. But man, that is some clear definition (structure) of clouds coming around a sharply defined center of circulation along the west COC. Very tight looking spin there. Looks ominous to me.
