Harvey is looking frontal now. Cooler, drier air flowing south through Houston. Our rain appears to be about over. Big open center in the Gulf, free of convection.

at this moment? What happened? Is there a update?

just look at the radar. Nonstop intense rain ongoing for hours. Likely not ending anytime soon.

Been raining hard since about 3 here in Beaumont. At least that is when it woke me up. Lots of lightning and wind. It is really loud outside and it is hard to tell sometimes if it is the wind or rain I am hearing. Lots of power outages too. I have my power (for now).

Yeah its getting pretty close now to overflowing. It's roughly going up at 0.2 feet an hour so I'd say next couple of hours your going to get overspill starting.

Morning everyone.

I'm deleting comparisons to other storms because it upsets folks and now is not the time for comparisons. Let's keep the focus on Harvey and the ongoign situation and recovery please.

Saved radar loop. Some areas have been under heavy rain all night.

Addicks dam looks like it'll go over spillway within an hour or so, Just shy of 108 right now at 107.34' (From 106' 2 hours ago)

107.62 now - based on the rate of rise the last 6 hours, it will overtop in the next 2-3 hours.

Stay safe southerngale - the entire storm2k community is praying for you. Let the emergency responders or us know if you need help evacuating! I'm more than a 1000 miles away but did see a poster yesterday in Texas volunteer to come get you in a boat yesterday.
