Saw a GFS run early this morning that forecast a 993mb landfall. With dropping pressures, t-storms firing along north boundary of COC, and large well established circulation around an ex-major, think there is a solid chance for 65mph winds in areas as this comes ashore. IMO.

I am so sorry to hear this. Yes, prayers all around. Does she have a way out?

No, unfortunately she does not.
Edit to clarify: they have access to a boat in the neighborhood conducting boat rescues to neighbors on higher ground, but her neighborhood is cut off.

Makes me more sick to my stomach. Thanks for the info. Keep us updated and if anything any of us can do.

Does the temp readings from the VDM say anything about to current status of the storm?

I. Maximum Flight Level Temp & Pressure Altitude Outside Eye: 19°C (66°F) at a pressure alt. of 1,619m (5,312ft)
J. Maximum Flight Level Temp & Pressure Altitude Inside Eye: 21°C (70°F) at a pressure alt. of 1,620m (5,315ft)
K. Dewpoint Temp (collected at same location as temp inside eye): 16°C (61°F)

At 12PM 8/29 homes that may already be experiencing flooding at Addicks is estimated at 2500 and 670 for Barker. #hounews #houwx #harvey

With those readings it just says we have a true warm core

It seems to indicate we have a warm core, not particularly strong or well organized but decent.

So this thing is still tropical? I guess Harvey just is determined to cling on to the last.

Looks like the pressure have dropt around 1mb on the second fly by, but they missed the center, have moved a bit to the SE.

Looking at the loop posted by Tolakram, with the large circulation, storms firing near it, Galveston already experiencing trop storm conditions, I would say that we are very near now to having trop storm conditions begin to spread over the SW La and SE Tex coastal areas in general. Don't have access, but I would venture that Cameron La is probably very near trop storm force right now. Just a guess.

Hope people won't be surprised, but I think there going to be a decent amount of wind as Harvey comes back ashore (more than 45--more like strong trop storm force). Ground saturated, might see a few trees go down.

They were laughing.

Outside, Tropical Storm Harvey was causing an unprecedented regional weather calamity and prompting a vast search and rescue effort still underway days later.

As the 15 residents of La Vita Bella sat in their activity room early Sunday morning — the room where they play games, listen to big-band music and eat popcorn — they joked and laughed, even as flood water quickly rose about their ankles, and then their waists.

What else could they do, asked Trudy Lampson, owner of the Dickinson assisted living facility and caretaker of the group.

“My ladies actually were really good,” Lampson said in a phone interview with The Daily News on Monday. “It was happy. It was funny. You had to laugh, because if you didn’t laugh you’d have to stand there and cry.”

Winds have really picked up here in Beaumont. It's been pouring since about 3 am and now there's a fairly heavy thunderstorm going on. My ditches are still draining ok, but all the streets around us are flooded.

That photo, shocking as it is, might be the single best photo to sum up Harvey and SE Tex.

They are asking for air assistance and numerous boats are responding. Hopefully, they get to him.
