I have been reading from the sidelines here for many years, well before Katrina on an earlier account. I don't know any of you personally, but you long-time contributors are such familiar names and I've learned so much from you. So it leaves me heavy-hearted to learn of your struggles and to be unable to do a single thing to help you. I know there is an outer circle of invisible supporters like me who will hold all of you in our thoughts and prayers. Hang on.

Thank you. I'm actually nauseated from the stress right now. In tears. I hope her family makes it. You all have been the best.

I am so sorry to hear this. I am glad they all got out safe, though. I've been worried silly.

Last month, my area received heavy rain which caused flooding that was in danger of reaching my house. That was a stressful situation I was in.

THIS, however, makes the flood that I got look like little league. I can't imagine the distraught feelings many people there including Southerngale are feeling. This is going to be a long recovery...

Are there Cajun Navy assets in the area?

Oh, my gosh. I'm so glad she's safe, but so sorry to hear she lost everything in the house. What a terrible, terrible storm.

Has someone who may be able to help been alerted to their location?

I'm trying to track that down. I know at one time the navy was told to stand down due to swift currents.

Not good... I can imagine the feeling of being surrounded by water is terrifying. How high is the water now and do they expect it to continue rising?? Any plan for escape to safety?

Animal groups have rescued over 100 dogs and 100 cats that had to be left behind, by evacuees messages to them and permission to enter their homes.

I'm in the process of confirming that. Her neighborhood was on the evac. list yesterday morning, so I'm sure on the search and rescue list.

One of their members told me they are still operating in that area...seems to be a bit of confusion. If you PM me her address, I can try to reach out via FB to some people...

They are back in there. Misskandi was looking for dispatchers here earlier. Contact her.

Offered my help...if they still need it tonight, I'll stay up the whole night to dispatch...I don't care. Anything to stop feeling powerless.

It's hard to get too many details. The sitaution is dire. But I'm sure she is getting bombarded with texts from friends and relatives right now.

I'll have pretty much everything she asked for. If CN ends up not needing it, I might reach out to the Waco Navy. Someone must need the help...and I am sick and tired of sitting here, powerless to do anything.

I understand completely. Thank you for keeping us updated on things and please continue to do so as you receive them. If only Harvey would go ahead and move soon so that the heavy rainband would move out of the area, that would probably help some. What a disaster this has been.
