Re: Texas Fall 2017
There's definitely a cool crisp in the air. First time it's felt like fall on the first day for me in Ohio. We already have some brown leaves on the ground here and other leaves on trees have begun to turn light yellow and orange. I also saw some squirrels burying acorns yesterday. As of right now signs have pointed for the midwest(and possibly Texas) to be in a trough for the next couple of weeks, which could help keep a storm from entering the gulf(a storm forming in the gulf is totally different).

12z GFS Tuesday afternoon front blasts through, drop temps 10-15 degrees under a brisk north wind of 15-20mph from 90 to lower-mid 70s. Low wednesday morning near 60 (50s surrounding areas) of DFW. Dew points in the 30s and 40s. It will feel crisp!
Similar timeline for central and SE Texas just a little later. Might be accompanied by a line of showers further south.

It other news, Harvey early estimates by some smart minds is putting it likely as north of 100b with odds that it will exceed Katrina as the costliest natural disaster in US history to date. Should easily be twice or three times the cost of Ike.

Gas stations around are slowly getting back online with shipment now that the bull run is over by the zombies. Prices are definitely higher than last week but no mad rush like yesterday. Still a lot of stations in central Dallas county out though but that should improve over the weekend.
What a self inflicted wound this incident was, not only did we manage to hoard up the gasoline when supply is disrupted and should not be rushing it, we artificially brought up the price for the metro area too . Good God don't let social media even hear of Irma...

HGX seems to subtly allude that the Brazos and Colorado Rivers have actually joined together via overwhelming the smaller San Bernard watershed that exists between them. I think this has happened only one other time on record, in December 1913, and even that was unconfirmed.

I've heard rumors about that too, but that's all it was. I wonder if that did actually happen that year.

I've already seen CNN with a big headline about "Irma being the next disaster" today
Also someone made a 10-day version of the NHC cone pointing at Houston

I can not wait for it. Humidity must die. The first step towards autumn, frost, freezing, ice, snow.....wait, I can not get ahead of myself here. Thank the Lord football is upon us, a sure indication the best time of year is near.

Looking forward to Wednesday when I start walking around the river with my dog again. I stop going in May or when it gets too hot and sticky to be outdoors. I'll start with 2 miles and work my way up to 4 then 6.

Mid to upper 50s for lows in the Austin five-day forecast ... ah Fall, you came a bit early but that is quite alright.

We hope so
But right now I think his hands are full as we have Irma threatening Florida and other places. He's earning his money's worth this hurricane season.
