GFS midnight run brings Irma just inland on Florida west coast...Not good for us...Track starting to repeat with successive runs (lock?)...

Do you think this has any chance of actually coming into the GOM. By the looks of it to me it is headed that way. It looks more south and no curve at all.

Well GFS has landfall in Southern FL on the GOM side, CMC hits Pensacola and UK takes this south over Cuba and then a hard hook N to miss FL to the east. So much for a consensus.

Appears to be strengthening.
1. Eye warming and clearing out
2. eye wall convection is now red and even some blacks on IR.

Wouldn't surprise me if this took a shot at cat5 by morning at this rate. The latest recon(about an hour ago!) did support 125 knot winds!

Also, this seems to be really bombing out now and may be peaking in strength as it moves over the Northern Antilles... a large 20+ mile eye as a strong cat 4/5 would be devastating. Hope everyone in these areas are prepared..
