Hope the NHC will mitigate the issues with their slow server. I can see it going down again come this weekend.
Remember last season or in 2015 when it was essentially down for days in an important time.

I use the ftp server instead of the NHC homepage. http://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/data/raw/ur/urnt15.kwbc..txt
Pretty much lag-free for now.

That's one reason I'm not going there or the Navy site. I have no reason to and neither do many of the gawkers. Leave the bandwidth to the people that need it. I get what I need on sites like this.

The high Cirrus from Thirteen outlines the ridge flow over the gulf rather well on the WV.
Ridge extends east almost to Irma and might bridge over.
Hard to tell where the next trough strong enough to reach Irma is going to form from the wv loop.
Forecast wind field for Puerto Rico probably isn't to dire as long as Irma stays on track.

Winds down to 150kts? Did they come through the strongest quad?

Just found this list of Caribbean web cams. Haven't verified how many are operational. But hope this is useful for some folks

Most of water, propane tanks and gas are all out for now in Broward County.
Batteries out too, however new shipments to come every hour for water, according to Publix employees.

Huge line for gas stations stretch more than half a mile in some locations.

Strongest winds are in the NE quadrant. Current pass is SE to NW

It's pretty unlikely the NE quad has winds much stronger than that though. Winds seem to be holding steady.

I've been waiting for propane for almost 2 hours now at an Exxon off of SR-84. They say it's coming.... but if it doesn't, they will have 125 ticked-off people to deal with.

EDIT: The propane gets here literally as I type this post.

I would wager they are 20 mph or more higher..
