Re: Texas Fall 2017
I'm seeing all these reports of 50s. Something must be wrong with my Acurite thermometer, because it said 62 this morning. Been pretty spot on until now, unless it's getting heat from the overhang of house, and it is in front yard near a street. Felt cooler than 62 out there.

We interrupt this hurricane season for an important message. Euro joins CFSV2 in healthy La nina for winter. this is a cfsv2 coup

Re: Texas Fall 2017
I still think its too early to make a big call, but weak la nina is looking more likely. With warm pool north of Hawaii and a cool 1+2, im still confident we get some cool weather though.
What analogs look good here?

I was knee jerking to that comment of La Nina. It's not a high possibility we should stay neutral maybe cold neutral.
But you cannot deny in the small chance a Nina does happen, historically of recent is not a good sign. Nearly every Nina since the 80s have been warm. I thought maybe the weak Nina last year would revert but didn't happen. With neutral your options are wider

Re: Texas Fall 2017
Guidance is also hinting at return of some ridging once the hurricanes are done to our east. Potential for return of above normal temperatures after Jose. Climo now is in the 80s so 90s are above normal.

don't even joke about that! I don't think anyone could take 3 warm winter in a row.

Me and La Niña do not get along. If the PDO is staying positive then hopefully any niña would be weak and short lived.
We deserve a nice stretch of dry weather especially for our friends and family in Houston/Beaumont/Port Arthur. However it won't be long before I become restless for rain, mainly in the Hill Country because it's been pretty dry there for awhile. Looks like it will stay dry for the foreseeable future unfortunately.
