Remember Irmas history in Cuba. It might not go inland right away at marco island and ride the coast for a while.

Irma is making landfall to the east of Key West, winds now from the north.

Hunkered down in a hotel, waiting for Irma. no dramatic weather yet. Sky continues to look ominous, estimated winds of 10_ 15, gusting to may e 20 or so. Some light rain. Drainage ditch on N and E sides of parking lot was near banks last night, due to previous rains. Did not rise appreciably overnight. Location just north of Melbourne, Florida at 28.23N and 80.72 W

I can safely say that the GFS beat the Euro on exact landfall at the lower Keys.

Looks like NE eye wall hammering the 7 mile bridge and Marathon right there.
