Or she's trying to close off the eyewall and re-intensify...

sure looks like that is the case as it has been trying hard the past hour to close off that eyewall, last radar loop shows this clearly

Looks mostly north last three hours...HWRF and GFS have landfall in Naples around 2 pm. That seems likely based on recent radar trends.

There are several hundred thousands without power in area. Irresponsible...

I can't believe @WIOD and @Y100MIAMI stopped broadcasting. There are lot of people out there who can only get their info that way. Shameful.

Maybe a slight E component to the N movement in past few minutes... Wobble likely...

Landfall in the Keys as a Cat 4 now official... first time there's ever been two Cat 4 hurricanes to hit the USA in the same calendar year, I believe.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

Eye appears to be tightening on radar with convection starting to wrapping around southern eyewall. She may be strengthening.

It's probably just a wobble. But at zero hour, a 25 mile wobble has huge implications for the immediate area as well as areas downstream.

The last hurrah...Irma giving us one last "#@$% you" before landfall.

If that is the case, then I hope for landfall over Cape Sable and mainland Monroe, to keep the intense eyewall over relatively unpopulated areas & the Everglades.

Irma continues with its almost due north heading. If it continues a landfall over Marco Island/Naples is looking likely, and Miami's strongest winds are yet to come.

Black Creek is beautiful - but it will flood if you sneeze too close to it. Thoughts and prayers to those living nearby. Gonna be a long 24 hours or so.

If she gets an hour over the water before hitting the Naples area, I'll bet we get some 145 mph+ wind reports from recon.
