Any chance of this weakening? We are in Polk County and starting to get nervous. Map still showing 110+mph winds. Conditions here are ok, just a little rain. We are watching the news, sadly just got news two police officers were involved in an accident and neither lived. Tragic.

Since I'm not on the ground in danger anywhere near Irma, I've stopped trying to follow the Tornado warnings. They have been appearing constantly in my Twitter feed. Probably 6 or more an hour since daybreak in FL....

It's incredible how few folks are online here with an historic landfalling storm in SW FL and possible worst case scenarios of surge affecting Naples / Ft. Myers.

But so many S2K members are in FL, so obviously dealing with power loss / comms loss / exhaustion / evacuation...
Other key members (CycloneEye, MSBEE) are dealing with tragedy caused by Irma in the Caribbean...
And we've got a whole ton of folks in Houston and other Harvey-hit areas of Texas trying to rebuild their lives...

Just got a wind gust to 41 mph in the past few minutes. Tropical storm wind gusts have begun here already.

I have received 5.5 inches of rainfall so far just with the present nor'easter ahead of Irma.

Irma's outer rain bands have yet to impact Northeast Florida. That will be later today into tonight. Expecting another 6-8 inches of rain when Irma finally Gogh finished her nasty trek here and gets out of here by Tuesday morning, on top of what I have already received.

It's very gusty here in southeast Alabama and anticipated to get worse. They're putting a 4 pm curfew on the roads here in Dothan and we've been informed that even the police won't be out. Just crazy.

Wow. That's pretty crazy! So far away.

This storm is certainly going to be talked about in history books for decades to come. Breaking records in many ways.
