But so many S2K members are in FL, so obviously dealing with power loss / comms loss / exhaustion / evacuation...
Other key members (CycloneEye, MSBEE) are dealing with tragedy caused by Irma in the Caribbean...
And we've got a whole ton of folks in Houston and other Harvey-hit areas of Texas trying to rebuild their lives...
Well, I am still on here while I have power. Conditions have steadily deteriorated here in Jax and down in St. Augustine. Storm surge flooding o curing in downtown St. Augustine now.
Here at my home, the bands have continued bringing heavy rain and I have had wind gusts over 40 mph a few times already. They are about to close access to all the major bridges here in Jax since the wind criteria of wind of 40 mph + are occurring
I asked have now picked up just under 7 inches of rainfall so far and counting!!

Irma is still a very dangerous hurricane, but Florida better thank their lucky stars she veered into Cuba first, otherwise they would be staring at a strengthening cat 5.

I'm in South West Orlando. The rain has been a steady drizzle and very little wind to speak of. Funny how this stuff works sometimes. I'm sure the cells in the feeders will eventually get to us.
Weather will be going down hill soon, the first true feeder bands approaching Orlando, winds will continue to pick up , worst will be around 11 PM-5 AM.
I'm north of Altamonte Springs. Longwood - Seminole County. Light intermittent rains and gusts around 35 mph. so far. It's been that way the last 2 days (rain). We are near the Wekiva River Basin and lots of old trees. We are prepared to be without power for some time...probably sooner than later. If anyone else is in my area, Lyman High School is a pet friendly shelter. It's not too late if you are in a mobile home, go now.
Good luck, neighbors.

Aloha are you in Sarasota? My best friend lives there and I am quite worried. I pray they don't get hit hard. She's riding it out in her home. God bless

It's stating to go down hill here with the combination of the Nor' Easter and Irma's rainbands coming up from the south. And we had a tornado warning around Cresent Beach near the St. John's- Flagler county line south of St. Augustine.

Anderson Cooper on CNN is in Tampa next to the Hillsborough River near downtown. It's flowing out and the water is really dropping. Looks very calm there. Kind of creepy.

It is, which is why I said she is still very dangerous, but she would be exponentially more dangerous if she had avoided Cuba.

Very odd to me, it sounds like we are getting worse conditions here than they are in Orlando at this point in time, from the reports I've seen here.

Yeah I believe that expired. No word yet if it touched down.
There will.be several quick spin up twisters the next 24 hours or so with this landfalling cyclone
