I see a lot of those guys are well-known tornado chasers. I hope they don't die on Marco Island.

No it triggers WEA (cell phone alerts) and tells people that are still there that the worst is about to come.


Ah! I see. It just seemed so - err - OBVIOUS.

It's like TWC's forecast for our area today says, "Heavy Thunderstorms" I mean, really?? Can't you say "Hurricane in your area" ?

Lightning and velocities increasing in the eyewall - one final round of strengthening or just frictional convergence that isn't related to the intensity?
