Northwest Marion county here. Been raining all day, wind is just starting to pick up. Still have power, much to my surprise. Power usually goes out if someone sneezes near a transformer around here.

I have my location on the right. Nothing but drizzle and breezes here and there now.

What does "on the right" mean. I must be missing something.

Look for the Poster's User Name. At the bottom of that section some people have location added

Edited to add: if you are on a phone it doesn't automatically show location. Tap the user name and if the poster has added it, it will show up there

When I use my iPhone there is no "right"
On my laptop the right side has all the identifiers including "location" shown

There are no reports of widespread catastrophic surge in Naples or ft Myers yet. No flooding in downtown Naples.

Okay, now it makes sense. On a phone here. By the way, in Ocala and no significant weather yet.

I am alive and back to Storm2k after Irma moved north of Puerto Rico sparing us from the core winds of 185 mph. There was some damage to homes especially in the NE part of the island like in the little island of Culebra. The main thing that happened was the power grid failure (Is fragil) and that was big because there was no internet nor cellular communications. My prayers go to those S2K friends that took it very hard in the northern Leewards and BVI /U.S Virgin islands.

Too many humans don't think about the critter toll. They can't evacuate and have no place to hide.

True!

I worry about the critters!!! I was just happy to hear that the Hemingway House is OK and so are the thumb-kitties!

Getting nasty here in East Polk/West Osceola Counties. Sustained winds picking up a lot. Back patio gathering lots of water

A few days ago, when Irma was still a Category 5, the Sentinel-2 satellite managed to capture waves breaking in the hurricane's eye. I have never seen a satellite with this resolution capturing such an occurrence within the eye of a cyclone.

Anyone see my 3-legged dog on CNN?

I saw a 3-legged dog on CNN! The reporter went down to street level during the eye (I think) and showed someone and their 3-legged dog. Was that you? The reporter said no hurricane was complete without a 3-legged dog, or something like that.

Orlando Met said we need the cone of reality because he expects higher than anticipated winds and he believes it can be a lot east of the projected path

Amazed Irma keeps heading N and already E of 5pm position and eye appears to be completely over land... Would think that reduces the wind forecasts for points northward...
