Tampa still shows negative surge:

Naples seems to leveled holding below the peak earlier today. Fort Myers still rising was about 1 foot and hour past 4 hours last I checked.

good..

I do not know how to say this nicely... but what more do you want? Everyone was told it was a big storm. No one should be blaming anyone else for being surprised or not being warned. They were.

Yeah and they also say child birth is painful. But until your in it you don't really get it, and if you have you forget. Also every storm is different so one is different from the ones you been in previously. This one surprised me, even though I been hearing it for days, and have been through 3 others in 04. And I am fully prepared because I was hearing about it. But yep I am still surprised by her punch here in Central FL

You may have been surprised by the "punch" Irma was packing, but you heeded the warnings and got yourself prepared. That is the point the others have been making ~ that even though there has been a media saturation about Irma and what a catastrophic storm she would be, there were STILL so many people who ignored it all and didn't get prepared, but then want to b*tch and moan and act surprised that they got nailed by a hurricane.

When will port orange get hit because Matthew was worse. I haven't lost power and the wind hasn't been bad. Rain was worse during the day but it had calm down since 11:30.

Been watching them for the past few hours and they're doing a fantastic job of explaining a very confusing, difficult and dangerous situation. The whole "Wall of Wind" concept for that major squall line is awesome. They're telling people what to expect and when to expect it. I wish he was in SE FL for us....

Tom Terry is the most knowledgeable TV Met here in Orlando, he's always done a good job, and no you cannot have him in S FL

I'm also in Ft. Caroline area. Holding up for now but worried about trees coming down.

That's my concern as well. Im staying on the side of the house with the least number of trees nearby.

Stay safe!

Pretty serious flooding and widespread power outages in St. Augustine. The rain finally let up. It has been constant since this morning.

We are past high tide so hopefully the water will subside now. My guess is we have 5'+ of surge.

Still in it petty deep here in WGV, looks like that really bad band is about to lift north.

We're set to receive another band of rain soon, but it's nice to catch a break for now. Also don't forget about wind threat as the center is approaching fast.

Stay safe. The wind field on this beast is huge. We're just dropping down to 40mph sustained in the West Palm Beach area. You're going to see some winds for awhile.

The water level in the San Sebastian river is dropping, great news!

Still windy but no rain for now. I expect tomorrow to be windy, but it should be dryer and that will make a huge difference.

In SW Orlando -- have heard multiple reports of damage, but everything is just fine here. Thought the peak gusts were over, but for the past 10 minutes we have been receiving some heavy wind. Very much looking forward to this being over.

Finally lost power

We are in that nasty tail that stretches from Cuba to JAX

Just put bubble boxes in aquarium to save fish

Will crank up generator at morning light to save food in fridge

Man o man, I am tired...but family safe so far
I can count my blessings

Godspeed all, I hope and pray everyone can say the same

Peace

Here comes another squall line. At least its moving fast. I need more than a 15min break so i can get some sleep.

It is erie that almost no one has power. With exception of the police station, one stop light, and fishing boats at the marina, it is dark everywhere.

I grabbed 2 hours from 1 am to 3 am

Gonna check surge level after band lifts northwest. Wind gusting hard at moment

At least garage floor is dry which means we should be ok for now

High tide was 7 minutes ago at my locale
