Could be our last reading at 7:35AM from our San Juan sensor as the eye wall was positioning closer - cell comms either down or in-and-out.

It would have a long time ago, but it's lodged against the side of the ramp. Maybe the wind shift will do it.

Yeah have to keep in perspective that no matter how thrilling the footage, millions of people in Puerto Rico are having the worst morning of their lives.

While the wind always gets the initial coverage here is the real issue, as always, water.

The river gauges across Puerto Rico are all going straight up toward record flooding with a lot of rain yet to come. #Maria

Re: ATL: MARIA - Hurricane - Discussion
It's mind-boggling how quickly those river gauges went from normal to major flooding.

I know this has been answered in the Irma thread but I searched and could find it.
Why does S2K show Maria as a cat 5 on the graphic but NHC says it's a cat 4?

It shows a 4 now, might need to refresh. It does have errors though, it's an older piece of proprietary and unsupported software that has rounding errors which will sometimes report borderline storms as the wrong category. It's kind of a miracle it still works at all.
