18z GEFS is interesting, this is as good as it has looked in a while now. I wonder if we will see the 00z models trend towards a solution more favorable of winter wx?

GFS now has snow across DFW on Christmas Eve and has the NE portions of the metroplex struggling to get highs above freezing on Christmas Day.

That is a funky look on the 00z GFS. Short wave crashing down the West Coast with plenty of cold air across the N. Plains. We would need a northern stream kicker to release that down ahead of the s/w, if it kicks out across the SW into Texas.

ETA: Looks like it might try and cutoff as the cold air is moving down the Front Range.
