Snow flurries and heavy freezing drizzle. It’s getting decently icy.

Finally getting rid of this unbearable heat in Houston. Heck, it was nearly 60 degrees today! Looks like shorts and tee shirt weather over the next week! Can't wait for the cold.

It shows an arctic outbreak during the time frame we've been discussing. The individual run doesn't mean much but it fits the bill in overall picture!
Meanwhile GFS looks like it may lose in temp forecast for next few days going back the past several runs. Once we go below freezing in the morning, likely won't top it until Wednesday.

big winter storm statewide at 324 hours...
and I'll be out of town then so you can write it down as verifiying.

Re: Texas Winter 2017-2018
If anything even close to what the GFS is predicting were to verify, then it would be quite a disaster. Good thing it's in the long-range. Would hate to see what the Canadian would do with those temps, given that it's been about 20 degrees colder than the GFS of late.

On the NAM, the wave coming in on tuesday is much further west than previous runs. Trend would be nice.

New GFS runs are eerily similar to what was supposed to happen on Christmas and New Years. Can't say I'm optimistic right now, frankly.

Latest NAM MOS has DFW 13F Monday and Tuesday mornings. 25F for a high on NY's day, 1 shy of the record lowest high for the date of 24F
