6z and 12z NAM came in a bit drier for my area for tomorrow. Hopefully that little disturbance in Mexico over performs and bring in more moisture to deep south texas!

Yeah I'm still hoping for an over performer with sleet across portions of south and central TX tomorrow. Will be interesting to see what the HRRR shows when it gets into its range (probably by tonight).

Experimental HRRR does show some light rain forming during the day tomorrow for South Texas.....Has temperatures in the upper 30s down here tho.

Yeah, I see. 00Z run had DFW below zero with highs in the single digits on the 14th. 12Z has DFW in the mid 30s the same day. Safe to say there is a tad of uncertainty beyond the next 3-4 days.

It's a balmy 52 degrees at my home in SW Houston at present. I was just laying out in the back yard in my swimsuit working on my tan. Clouds aren't helping, though.

We just got to keep at it. We know it can get cold this winter! You build it, and snow will come!

First week of Jan will have some spectacular departures below normal...for once to start a month

Plenty of flurry action going

Ntwx, I know we are in Irving and I still haven't seen a flake. Getting anything where you are? I'm at Walnut Hill and Beltline.

I'm not in Irving today, far North Dallas for the New Year. But it's hit or miss with the flurries, drizzle the dominant precip type

A very cold start to 2018 will be expected across deep south Texas with wind chills or “feels like” temperatures falling as low as the upper teens across the ranchlands and into the low to mid 20s across the valley. A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for the entire region from 6 am to 6 pm on Monday as a result of the low wind chills. In addition to the chilly conditions, Monday through Monday night will feature the possibility for light sleet mixed in with the rain. Temperatures will drop to near or below freezing for many from Monday night into Tuesday morning. As a result, a Freeze Watch is in effect for Monday night for all except along the immediate coast. Please, remember to bundle up, protect your pipes and take care of your pets along with your elderly friends and family.

Finally started seeing some flurries here in Keller about 30 mins ago. Not heavy at all but just nice to see them floating in the air. All of the cars and trees have a light coating of ice. Even the sidewalks and parking lot are a little icy. I walked to the car a little bit ago and almost slipped on the sidewalk

Roads are extremely slick out, I-20 west in FTW is messy, only 1 lane moving over bridges. 35w north bound is back up and bridges are coated despite treatment. Be safe out there

Reports of problems on roadways:

I-35W north at Rosedale, accident affecting several lanes
Bridge from I-30 EB to George Bush NB shut down due to ice. Sand truck on its way.
I-820 north at Berry, accident reported
Major accident reported at I-30W at I-820 E
More than 80 accidents reported, several rollovers in Tarrant County
I-30 westbound near Camp Bowie Blvd. in Fort Worth closed
Denton County: Officials tell WFAA they are seeing icing conditions on bridges
Cooke County: Icy spots on I-35, according to NWS
Wise County: Reports of icing on some bridges, according to NWS

This has been a impressive cold snap to end 2017. DFW Airport has not recorded a temperature higher than 52 since the 23rd, and the daily average temperature since the 23rd has been 43, with our lowest temperature of 27 on the 25th. Can't wait to see how today effects the monthly mean average, it's currently +3.2

37F here but 32 5 miles to my north. Still reports of some drizzle and everything is still very wet so icecluld be an issue here this afternoon. The Ouachita Mountains again have shown how they can slow shallow cold moving into NE TX.

A lot more issues on the roads this morning than some of us thought but we must remember it doesn't take much to cause some headaches.. Meanwhile Ensembles continue to show a very favorable pattern for Winter Storm(s) starting about the 10th through the end of Jan..
