Breeze...these are the first 2 days all winter season that we missed college so I would say this snow break is a bit overdue.

Hope everyone is having a great evening. Looks like I will be heading back to class in the morning, or at least that is the way it looks right now. More snow on the way for me, but probably around 2" or so.

Another log of the fire before bedtime....

#602 Postby Guest » Tue Feb 25, 2003 10:59 pm

Going to throw anothe r log on the fire before bedtime - don't let it go out tonight - too cold to be without a fire tonight.

Heard from some friends in Calvert, Tx which is north of College Station and it seems they are covered in ice. Said that there was so much freezing rain that the wings of some buzzards were frozen and they couldn't fly - just walking around. Well nothing like that hear in sahara desert of Houston texas - LOL.

Time to call it a night - hope to see everyone here tomorrow - remember its Wednesday otherwise known as HUMP DAY.

Hi everyone! I had a fabulous day today, my tax return finally came! And while I had to put it all to bills, it feels so good to be catching up a bit! The best part is I finally am getting my broken windshield fixed tomorrow! So, needless to say, I'm on Cloud 9! Hope everyone had a good day and have a good Wednesday, I know I will, my day off!

I brought a heavy jacket and my trusty ax with me tonight since it looks like the woodpile could use some restocking... anyone game to brave the cold with me to keep the PBS running in the days to come...?

The temp here is -15* and continuing to fall with the winds making the cold run right through your body no matter how many layers you've got on. Fortunately, they haven't issued any wind chill advisories tonight, so at least the temperature shouldn't fall below -30*.. though, I wouldn't be surprised if it did... again...

Make sure you folks in Northern MN and ND keep the homefires burnin' tonight... it's no time to be heroic for foolish reasons...

Well... I'm off to dreamland myself... it's amazing how tired wood-chopping will make a person...

see y'all when the sun comes up...

Morning everyone! I put a couple logs on the fire this morning because the PBS was almost out! Eeek! They didn't cancel classes this morning, so I will be off to my daily commute in a little while.

Hope everyone has a great day today and I hope it doesn't go down to -15.

Good morning to all and here in Puerto Rico we dont have to deal with very cold temps 8) and winterstorms 8) but warm and sunny days are the rule almost all year but of course what we worrie here are the hurricanes that may come during the summer but apart from that this is the place to be at this time 8).

What I am worried is about where is Rob because it has been 2 days without a post from him but hopefully he is doing other things but after a nonstop posting rate from him it has me thinking of something not normal has happened to him but let's wait for him very soon and he will tell us where he was in this period.

Ok guys keep warm and be careful with those winterstorms and see all here at PBS next time. 8)

No kidding, cyclone, it is strange! But let's not send out the search dogs just yet, I am sure he is fine, maybe had to rest his hands! It is a COLD Wednesday morn here in Davenport! 9*!!! And I have to get out there and get the frost off my car so the glass company can take it! So everyone have a good morning, no Krispy Kreme, but I am going to make some chocolate chip pancakes, stop on by!

Mmmmmmmmm... Chocolate Chippers! Yummy Yummy! Count me in for a tall stack ;)

vbhoutex - That was no typo... things bottomed out at around -25* during the wee hours of the morning... but I'm hoping that this will be the last stretch of cold weather this winter.... it would be a nice change to walk between buildings without having to button up my jacket and put on a hat and gloves.

Living up in my neck of the woods is a test of character every winter... but at the same time, it is a connection shared amongst everyone that lives here... as much as weather can screw up a picnic or create hazordous driving conditions, at the same time, there is a bonding quality that weather possesses... because it is so much bigger than us all...

We are held in awe at its etherial nature... transfixed by its toying with us... sometimes being predictable... and other times blind-siding us without warning despite the best efforts of the experts...

Truly, weather is a sign of something greater than us in this existence...

Making life all the more interesting... ;)

I decided to stop by the stove to warm up this afternoon. It is a cloudy, chilly day in Spring Mount PA. Temps are in the low 20's. Looks like I am going to see some snow tomorrow night and Friday morning. But of course I love snow so I will be happy to see it. :D

I hope everyone here is doing well. I will visit again soon!

Have a great day! b8)

That's downright beautiful, gator. Something us weather freaks can appreciate.

Rob had his follow-up Dr. appt. Monday. Hope everything's okay. It may be time for concern.

of mine who lives in Duluth describes the winter in Minnesota as their annual in situ experiment in cryogenics.

Hi everyone!

Happy Anniversary Amanzi!! :D

It's a cold day here in the deep south. Upper 30's right now with light rain and sometimes just drizzle. Too bad it's not snow!!

As some of you may have read in the USA Weather forum, LATE last night The Weather Channel and storm2k current conditions for my area were reporting light snow for me. I kept going outside trying to find it but I only had light rain. I don't know how long they were showing I was getting snow before I saw it, but after I had seen it still showing snow for a couple of hours, I think I may have seen tiny snow flurries falling. :?
Of course that's not what I meant by wishing for snow. I'm not even certain it WAS snow! (even though they said it was) I guess it could have been snowing across town!
Oh well, maybe next year.....I'm getting pretty good at saying that.

Well, I went to the dr. and he ran a slew of tests (blood work, x-rays, you name it!) to try and get to the bottom of these problems I've been having. I won't know anything until I go back for results. After asking a million questions, he thinks I'm under too much stress. :o
DUH! Who isn't?

Southerngale...you take good care of yourself, all right?

Amazi... I can't wait until I can turn on the A/C, but it looks like 3-6" of more snow is going to fall late tonight into tomorrow. College tmrw. is in question. Boy, oh, boy!

SCOOT OVER DANG IT, it's COLD :D Howdy everyone! It's been awhile I know, with the foot going haywire, the weather and other matters I had to deal with, needless to say, I've been busy, well, kinda :P I've pretty much spent the last 2.5 weeks in bed with the stupid foot, I am on the road to recovery FINALLY!

Southern Gal, stress can lead to sooooo many problems, like we didn't know that, right? Take care of yourself ya hear?

Think I'll throw a coupla juniper logs on the really get the fire crankin', it's STILL snowin', not hard thank goodness but the kicker is, the wind is HOWLIN blowing the snow into massive drifts. I've had my son out most of the day trying to keep the driveway clear with the snowblower, just about the time he hits the end of it, he has to turn around and do it AGAIN  it's good for him, builds character as they say!
