Looks very similar to the 0z Euro now. Now we need the 12z Euro to hold or trend even better!

It was obvious by about hour 48 on the GFS that it was trending towards the Euro. To me that is very encouraging as we are starting to get good agreement on the wave break and ridge development.

It's actually within 5 days. Now is the best time for good trend, once you get in 5 day period the drastic changes tends to end and more of the details

Yep, when you have that strong of an Arctic HP with a decent amount of moisture out ahead...many areas of Texas could get in on this winter weather action early next week.

GFS sends the arctic front through DFW Monday evening, below freezing by midnight and likely doesn't get above freezing until Thursday afternoon for a balmy upper 30s

Our local OCM are already alluding to the sleet possibility. Very unusual for them since they usually go very conservative on any Wintry precip possibilities. Must be getting bolder since we have already had 2 Winter precip events. LOL BTW it is :sun: :cold: here in Houston with WC low 20's. May have to add :froze: later!! :D

Not to be greedy, but the chance for a big winter storm and second winter event in one week hinges on the trailing system. The 12z GFS splits that into two pieces and we need a single cutoff plowing into the cold air over Texas.

Looks like potential making of another winter storm (180+ hours) as Canada is reloading the following week on the GFS

Maybe we can finally get something up here along the river instead of just a few flurries.

Yeah, the trend on the 12z GFS was nice, but still not impressive snowfall totals. Mostly just half an inch to an inch totals in most places. I mean I’d sure take it, but I’d love to see some higher totals than that.

All you need is an inch with the very cold temperatures and it will stick around longer. Plus the very cold temps would yield higher ratios than the 10:1 if verified

Still too far out for any consensus yet, there are a ton of moving parts out in the Northeast Pacific over the coming few days

Lol I’ll take it and wouldn’t complain a bit. I’d be ecstatic even if we just got a few flakes.

Are all the major models all in at this point? The upcoming Euro will be telling. It could put this forum in a frenzy. I love it.

After the 20th. 1050HP again? Why not, no problem. Goal is 400 pages before February

One good winter event will yield 80-120 pages easily.
