Wow.

If that verified, that could be a pretty incredible snow event here in Austin. Will be watching it very closely over the next 48 hours to see how it evolves. I haven't been at this very long, but I have zero recollection of a skew-t looking like that at or inside 3 days. Goodness.

Not to be a debby downer, but does it seem like the DFW area is going to get less than previously anticipated or likely not much at all? Or do we genuinely have a real shot this time at getting snow accumulations.

So maybe I am reading the models incorrectly but it looks like they are thinking midday Tuesday to sometime that night will be frozen something, then stay freezing till Wednesday sometime? Austin/ Round Rock

(I am so not looking forward to driving to work and back)

There are a number of snowfall maps in the previous few pages. Nearly on all guidance DFW gets wind driven snow. How much? It's ranged from 0.5" to 2-4" depending on what model and what location but no one knows for sure yet

It's actually been increasing over time. First it was nothing about early week, then maybe novelty flurries, then a dusting and now we have snow maps

Euro is running, we should know pretty soon since it's not 10 days out

Given what the GFS had, I'm betting on a wetter run

Euro is coming in wetter for DFW with widespread 1" snowfall across the metroplex. Very cold.

It looks lot like the CMC with bullseye around Texarkana

Yeah 0.2-0.3" of liquid qpf equivalent similar to DFW. 850mbs temps are real close on the Euro for Austin, maybe mix along with some snow.

Euro also went with GFS on Thursday with no phase of the vorticity keeping north and south apart so likely limited event on this run compared to previous

Isn’t the Austin area long due for some snow though? I often hear everyone on here refer to them as the freezing drizzle capital of TX or something like that. I know they got some back in early December, but before that when was the last time they actually had measurable snowfall?
