I will respectfully disagree. Last winter ended in the mother of all winter torches. We get enough of that every summer.

True. If anything, I'm glad we're getting consistent cold.

Radar is starting to fill in a bit across north TX. Yall have about a 4 hour time period to get some snow before drier air moves in.

So is there any chance DFW, especially the northern parts, gets any snow accumulations? Or have those chances virtually been erased?

The loop you posted, see those two bands in east OK, is that it? Draw a line back and it looks like thats where it is kicking off.

Just want to the store for food and grabbed some starbucks since ill be burning the midnight oil.

I noticed that precip started once the 700MB mark or around there became saturated. Not sure in particular why that layer, but the HRRR started precip once it saturated. SPC also shows the 700 MB layer relative humidity over 70% that is still in OK. Along this layer moving is where all the snow is banding into Arkansas

The loop was just to highlight that lift was still coming in from Oklahoma

Best 700mb frontogenesis is still north of DFW, so maybe we can squeeze a bit more out of this setup before the dry air shuts it off.

It is. Maybe can get some serious banding with it. Layers below it need to be pretty saturated too though.

Great loop Ntx. You can see some of the features i believe.

Edit : I will settle for the latest HRRR run Houston. Still sleeting, 28 degrees in SL and really close to being all snow 18 hours from now.

In the early December snow, did any models foresee the 6" that fell over College Station?
