Good luck and enjoy the frozen precip up there in north TX! Also appreciate the reports, it helps forecasters see how the models are handling the ongoing activity.

Good reminder to our guests to download the mPING app. The NWS actually uses it to see how things are playing out. You can report precip yourself but also cool to watch the snowflakes head towards your house.

It’s interesting seeing Pete on WFAA showing a future radar for 11 pm and it looks nothing like we’re seeing now.

It must be assimilated from the NAM some how or the WRF family.

Ch 5 was the same way. Show radar and he talks about bands forming to the SW moving towards DFW then fast forwards to midnight model and there is nothing at all, except south east of Dallas. That tends to drive me crazy. Not because I cant figure NowCasting vs Forecasting out, but because the passive viewer sees what they say and when its totally different (because the radar echoes keep moving as you would imagine) then the general public blabs about how they don't know anything etc. Just explain. Most people appreciate that, I think.

Precipitation from earlier is frozen on my truck so whatever falls should stick.

I'd say you have excellent chances of getting out, though there could be a few delays, depending upon where the plane you're flying out on is coming from. The runways will likely be fine, and they do have the capability to de-ice an aircraft before takeoff.

They cancelled my flight. Re-booked me on one later in the afternoon. Flight was coming in from Orlando. My guess is the one they re-booked me on will also be cancelled as well. They have cancelled all 7 of the flight options I had except for the one they re-booked me on.

I will respectfully disagree. Last winter ended in the mother of all winter torches. We get enough of that every summer.

We’ve been left out just like y’all aside for a few flurries and I’ve thought this winter has been great so far. It’s not constintly warm like the last two. Cold is great, snow is just a bonus. I’ve also burnt up a whole rick of wood so far which has been pretty rare the last few years. I’m with you in disagreeing.

I have the same thoughts. It must be a time issue or something. Not sure, if just feels disingenuous to say here is what the radar will look like in 30 minutes, yet it would be nearly impossible for their radar to verify.

Looks like you're getting some moderate rain as well. I sense the Rain Miser is quite happy right now

You better believe it..

Yeah, I'm regretful of my previous comment. I've just got to mature and not say things in spite and really appreciate that we could potentially have a below normal january for the first time in ages. My bad.

Where can I find a weather radar online like the ones y'all are using so I can stop using NBC 5's radar.
