Well, yet another snow event for the DFW area. I think we're all squared up now as far as winter weather for Dallas this winter, right? You've already had a bunch of snow events there. And heck, Houston had more snow than Denver in December. Coldest winter we've experienced in quite a while across Texas.

Never

I think you're forgetting most West of I35 and into the panhandle. :D

Nope, the panhandle certainly wasn't part of the deal, only the DFW area, Austin, and SE TX.

No one in the panhandle was begging WXman for snow and cold.

The bottom one amazingly was maybe only halfway through the event, when they said it was almost done but yet you could see it back-building, over and over and over...

Already a temp bust here. It's 36 degrees with a forecast low of 40.

I would love another event here in South Louisiana but won’t be greedy. I still can’t believe our December snow. Geismar (between Baton Rouge and New Orleans got about 6 inches. I still don’t believe it.

Wish I knew how to post pics

Your time will come. For all the doom of us DFW'ers, my kids think we live in a snow zone. They have had quite a number of 1-2 inch snows, multiple 4 inch snows, a 6 inch snow and then the monster 12 inch snow of 2010. In fact that year we had almost 20 inches at our house (although not at the airport). 12 + 6 + 2 + a couple flurry showers all in one winter. My point is that if you live long enough in DFW you will break your Bama record. My kids still believe we are due this year, after all we live in Dallas

This post was probably an opinion of mine, and in no way is official. Please refer to http://www.hurricanes.gov for official tropical analysis and advisories.

No one in the panhandle was begging WXman for snow and cold.

The severe and extreme levels of drought conditions that are currently present in these area say otherwise. It’s been 4 - 5 months since any measurable precip. So any type of moisture or precip at this point is probabaly needed in these areas more than any other in the state.

It's still chilly and nasty out there and with a high impact solar event to hit the Northern Hemisphere today, things could change down the road. The sun has been extremely quiet throughout the Winter and now we are seeing solar activity pick up. The MJO after being stuck in a very high amplitude in Phase 7 looks to trend toward a less amplified Phase 8 which impacts our part of the World. The latest CFSv2 Climate Models suggest March may come in like a lion with more wild weather and below normal temperatures. Time will tell.

Yep, Hello -AO/-NAO...coupled with a swing into Phase 2/3 by March and things could get wild in the US for next month

Surprisingly, without lack of extreme cold talk, DFW is now almost to mid month and -3.3F below normal..might get our first back to back official below winter months since Washington crossed the Delaware

Depends on where you are at but I don't see anything torchy in Texas with the upcoming pattern. The pattern doesn't look overly conducive for a cold blast in Texas but temps will swing b/w mild and cool with a deep western trough and systems kicking out. Plenty of rain chances but unfortunately the Panhandles of Oklahoma and Texas look to stay dry.
