Do not worry Professor, Lake Erie should be thawed out by June.

Very slim chance of any additional winter weather in NE TX. Wouldn't rule it out completely, but it would take a significant pattern change by mid March or so. Azaleas are blooming in Houston, robins are heading back north. Nature is telling us that spring is coming sooner rather than later.
Good thing I'm not in NE TX! Yea, I figure as much. Even way up this way I have some bluebonnets on my property that have started breaking ground.
I'd say you're definitely in NE TX, but your chances of any additional winter weather are a little higher than the DFW area. Bluebonnets are starting to bloom in SE TX, and I had the first report of a June bug this past weekend.

But with all due respect, this time...

I consider NE Texas the entire NE part of the state, from Waco to Lufkin and north to the Red River all the way west to Wichita Falls. Big area. Basically, the NE 1/4 of the state.

Mount Pleasant, Sulphur Springs, Paris and Texarkana in the north primarily along Interstate 30, Jacksonville and Palestine to the south are also major cities within the region. Most of Northeast Texas is included in the inter-state region of the Arklatex.”
