No doubt that Spring has arrived for the central/southern half of the state. The Redbuds, Bradfords and assorted fruit trees are looking great this year. For them, a colder winter was needed and it shows by the amount of blooms they have.

Not up this way yet, but as with every other year, I'm sure they'll be ok..
That's true, you folks up in Northeast Texas still have a ways to go....

Re: Texas Spring 2018
Should have seen this coming but the models are keeping a return to wetter wx for Texas out beyond Day 10. It was pretty obvious that the models were too quick to break down the -NAO and that should have been a strong hint that they were also too quick with the flip back to a wetter Texas pattern.

Got a surprise snow last night. It was only a trace, but I'm ready for spring. Only 1 more day until I'll be in warmer weather.

+13 SOI to make it 15 straight days. With that stint after the negative SOI in Feb, the faucet has essentially been turned off.
Westerly winds is blowing west of the dateline, we need that to blow east of the dateline to flip the SOI and reconnect the link/tropical Pacific convection.

In other news, Amarillo still has only a trace of snow. Even more scary is they have only seen 0.01" qpf (minus the traces) since October.

Houston and Austin have them beat this winter, snow-wise! Perhaps north and northeast Texas will get some snow during the 2019-2020 winter...

I really can't complain about my snow this year, we are near average and will probably see a couple of inches of snow before it gets too warm. We also got two good storms compared to the clipper melt clipper train of 2016. I don't even want to talk about last year lol.

Nope he is working on hottest summer ever. EVER. followed by warmest winter ever. EVER. The debt will be collected for snow in Houston and Austin this past winter from the heat miser himself.
The kingpin of heat does not bargain

Extremely dry for DFW through mid-March. Will we see a near-record dry March after a record wet February?

Yea I’m worried . At least DFW is drought free and saw plenty of rain . Y’all no longer need it. Central and S along with the Panhandle of TX need it . We are still in mod drought and spring is our only hope before we head into a torch dry summer

Even if we had the cold, would we not have the right circumstances for snow?
