Which hurricane names tend to be strong?
according to archives, which present-day hurricane names (atlantic and pacific) have strong tendencies when they are used? which ones have always been hurricanes, for example?
conversely, on average, which are always (or mostly) weak?

For the WPac, the names Chaba and Songda have always been at least category 4s (uses in 2004, 2010/2011, and 2016).

Re: Which hurricane names tend to be strong?
Not sure off the top of my head. Many times, the strong ones end up getting retired after only limited uses if they impact landmass, at least in the Atlantic. If you want to check out which tropical systems from various basins end up becoming notable, the Wikipedia Tropical Cyclone Portal might be a good starting point.

Re: Which hurricane names tend to be strong?
In the Atlantic, names between D and M tend to be the strongest because they usually form during the peak of the season when conditions are most favorable. However this is not always the case.

ah ok ty but I meant which NAMES on average tend to be strong.... as in average intensity by NAME lol
e.g. which NAMES had always been used for hurricanes; and had never been used for a tropical storm
e.g Maria, mate, kenneth

Re: Which hurricane names tend to be strong?
Irma did not have a perfect record of being a hurricane its only time. That's because it wasn't the only storm ever with that name in the Atlantic. Irma was also used in 1978 for a weak, out-to-sea tropical storm.

Jimena - 2/3's of its uses have been for Category 4 hurricanes. 1979 and 2003 are the only exceptions

You had mentioned it above, but all four of Kenneth's uses in the East Pacific have reached Category 4 intensity.
